new here with low/slow rising betas
hi. i've been reading this forum all morning and thought i'd post and see what kind of advice you all might have.
backstory: we had our first loss back in october, at 6w. after many months of trying, we finally got help from an RE and after lots of testing we had our first clomid/iui cycle this month. i got my bfp on father's day, at 11dpiui. my betas however, have been making me so worried. 12dpiui: 55 (progesterone was 36.3) 14dpiui: 91 16dpiui: 163 they've never doubled. the RE wants me back tomorrow at 18dpiui for another blood draw. i don't have any symptoms really, other than some cramping/pulling in my abdomen. with my m/c, i never even got a bfp until 16dpo, and my numbers at 22dpo were around what my 16dpiui numbers were this time. with that, i also had tons of brown spotting, which i don't have any of this time. is there any hope???

I hear of lots of women who have slow rising #'s and go on to have healthy babies. Try and enjoy the moment your in. Your pregnant! |

There is always hope!
My betas were ~ 14DPO: 25 16DPO: 37 18DPO: 60 20DPO: 129 So you see it, mine were low and slow too, and it took 3 draws before it finally doubled, and I am now over 10 weeks along! I spent that whole week of beta hell crying and searching the internet high and low for success stories and "what if's", and honestly, that just made it 10 times worse! All you can do it wait it out and see what happens. But try to relax in the meantime, and don't let those numbers drive you crazy, because numbers are all they are! |

I agree with Ryan. Slow rising betas don't mean the worst. There are so many varying reasons that it could- and will- drive you crazy!
I have had 4 losses and with the last 3 of them I had to deal with beta hell. I never it got to the point you are before my #s dropped or didn't at all come close to doubling. So you are already doing better than me! I hope everything goes well and can't wait to see how your ultrasound goes. I am now pregnant and awaiting one more blood draw, my 4th beta, and then an ultrasound. So I really hope yours is great! my betas this time were: 14dpo-118 16dpo-369 18dpo-944 Even with these numbers I worry. So just try to relax and do what all these great ladies have said "celebrate that you're pregnant"
