Here are my numbers-04-23....5700 04-27....9300 and then about 8 days later...15000......so they are not really doubling and I think I may mis-carry?? We had one sono where they saw the yolk sac,and gest.sac-went back the day after my last beta was checked, which was a week after the last sono, and the baby was found, growth of the sac as my NP sais, and a heartbeat-122-I was 6 weeks 1 day-they said all looks normal-but I am afraid to get my hopes up even after seeing/hearing the heartbeat b/c of my numbers...the NP didn't say much about the numbers at all, just that the sono looked normal-and that in the first trimester, she can't really guarantee an outcome..but that all looks ok so far---- Should I be worried? Anyone else go through this? I need honest opinions and answers pleeeeaaasse.... Thanks ;-)

Hi,
I am so sorry that you're feeling so overwhelmed by your betas. Honestly, that you're seeing a nice heartbeat at only 6 weeks is EXCELLENT. I won't even have my u/s until 7.5 weeks because if there is not an hb before then, I'll be freaking out. So, at 6 weeks, your little bean is already thriving. Your NP said things look good. If you need more reassurance, definitely call back and ask her why the numbers didn't jump more between the 2nd and 3rd blood draw. I'm sure she would have told you during the u/s if she thought something was wrong with the betas. Try to hold on to the fact that your baby HAS grown and has a nice hb at only 6 weeks. Best, Victoria |

Betas no longer double when your numbers get that high. A lot of REs don't even do betas when you get that far along. The u/s is much more important at your stage. Seeing a h/b at 6 weeks is great. My RE told me that once you see a h/b the chance of miscarriage is like 4%.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Very best wishes...

Yes, I will second what Athena said. Numbers REALLY slow down when they get to that stage!
