Betas down then up again

Help! I am SOOOOOO confused. Here's the short version - I was sure I had miscarried, but betas are rising. Any help?

5/23 (13DPO) Beta 13
5/25 started bleeding, bright red
5/26 Beta 18
5/29 Beta 16, still bleeding, passing small clots, think I passed some small tissue -Stopped Progesterone suppositories
6/2 Bleeding tapered off to spotting
6/3 Beta 103! Restarting progesterone.

Huh? Is this possible? Now I feel awful because after my Beta went down to 16 and I had all that bleeding I assumed it was over. I've had a drink or two a few nights this past week because I figured it was safe. Do I have a chance? Help! Freaking out here. I go back on Saturday for another beta and an ultrasound.

possible late implanters (twins) and then one was miscarried

I don't know though as I am in beta hell still also. I don't think a few drinks will matter any...so many women drink before they know they are pregnant and everything works out fine. Keep us updated.

I am sure that the few drinks won't hurt anything...probably relaxed you more for your little one to snuggle in.
I, too, am in beta hell with a verrrry low to start, then decrease and then rising.
Here are mine:
8dp5dt (of 6 day embryos): 5
10dp5dt: 5
12dp5dt: 4
16dp5dt:23
18dp5dt:43
20dp5dt:105 (6/2)
Started meds again today and will retest for HCG every 4 days.
24dp5dt: 6/6

What is your RE saying?

Angelica - Sorry you are in the same boat. Have you had an ultrasound yet? My RE isn't saying much of anything. The nurse calls with the results and today when she gave me my number, I just said "WHAT?! - I thought I had miscarried." and she said, well your doctor says your numbers are going up so we'll retest in 4 days and see what happens. Really helpful.

Anyway, keep me posted as to what happens with yours!

No US yet as RE says the HCG level isn't high enough to see anything. We are adopting the "wait and see method", although RE did say that the chances that this will be a viable pg are in the miracle dept

. What a frustating place to be in! I guess time will tell. So your next beta is in 4 days...Sat?

TL-RN: Beta today was 503 which is more than doubling every 2 days.
Next beta is Tues and US is Weds. RE says that he is not optimistic that this is a viable pg.

How are you holding up?

Hello there all,

I'm in the same sit. as you both - very low betas (3/10/16) and just started seeing some bleeding yesterday. Today, I can see some bright red. Dr. says I cld be m/cing, but I'll still be going for 4th beta tomorrow. Hoping for a miraculous rise and sending lots of hugs your way too!

I'm in sort of a similar situation although my beta # went down.....went from an 87 on Tues to a 75 two days later....I know that the numbers should be going up and not down.....but to me, they didn't drastically decline and my numbers actually started out decent. I was told to stop all my meds and wait for my period to come...and go in next Thur for another beta to confirm my levels are dropping. I know how sucky it is....stay strong ladies!! I will keep you in my prayers...I know how hard this is! Someday, it will all be worth it!

Well, had my ultrasound yesterday and they weren't able to see anything. The tech said my beta was too low so she wouldn't see anything yet anyway... but at least she didn't see any ectopic. My beta came back at 794 though! Way more than doubling. I have another ultrasound and beta on Tuesday.

Angelica - weird how similar our situations are.
