Has anyone had their beta's done at 7 weeks?

Hi everyone,

I had my beta's done at 7 weeks and they were at 77,000. Has anyone else had them done at this time? Please post yours if you did. I would really like to compare. Does 77,000 at 7 weeks sound OK? Thanks

I've never had one done that late, but I'm not surprised that your numbers are that high. That sounds about right for as late a draw. That number sounds wonderful to me. Congrats to you. Have you had your first u/s?

I don't have my first u/s until the 12 week mark so I am waiting very patiently!! Having one now wouldn't put me at ease because I had one at 6.5 weeks with my last preg and it show a healthy baby with a heartbeat, when I went in for my 12 weeks scan it had unfortunately died at 10.5 weeks. So this time I am just waiting for the 12 week scan.

I had a hcg test done at 22 dpo and it was at 3,281. My doc called me a week later and left a message saying that my levels were low - didn't tell me the figure just that they were low, so I spent a whole week before I could get in to see her to find out if something was wrong and get another test. I finally saw her 2 weeks after the test was and she said we should test again to make sure they have significantly increased - which they definitely did. However, I have since found that a reading of 3,281 at 22 dpo (about 5 weeks) isn't low at all!!! I don't know what she was talking about! I guess she's not a specialist in pregnancy but still - it scared me! Ahhhh....anyway I am babbling!

So sorry to hear about your m/c and congratulations on your pregnancy!

While I hadn't had my HCG checked at 7 weeks, I did have u/s at week 6, 7, 8 and 12.

Are they monitoring your progesterone levels as well?

Lauri

Thanks Athena!! Thats great!

Lauri - I am not having my progesterone monitored, I don't think they are too concerned about that, not sure why. Should I be having it monitored?
