Lowering Betas?

How did it happen for you? Did they go down fast?

Just can't find much info on peoples betas that lowered and wondered how soon would I expect other things like bleeding...cramps...I have no other sign and wouldn't have even known if I hadn't gone in for the 4th beta...resulting in lowering......

Going in for my D&C and just feel weird about it, how I can go have four betas done to watch the number slowly rise then ONE number drop and I'm schd. for a D&C ......no other tests or symptoms.........am I crazy to think there may be room for error or at least another test to MAKE sure the number is lowering more?????????

Didn't you have one go back up? I would definitely wait another 2 days after the one that went up to make sure it's not still going up. Also, I would insist on an u/s before the D&C. In my recent lurking I've read of three different people who got to D&C appts only to find a heartbeat! I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I would get my beta checked again and definitely have another u/s before you get the d&c. I mc my first. It was a blighted ovum and my betas never went down...they kept going up and doubling until I was 9 wks. The RE did another us and sac was only measuring 6wks and no hb and my beta was like 36000. We sched a d&c because it was considered a missed mc.

In fact get the u/s the day that you get the d&c. I have also heard about people going in for one and they do the u/s and there is a hb and the baby is fine.

It went down right before the D&C from 173 to 149.....

Was that drop the first drop or was that 2 drops in a row? If you have any doubt before the d&c, get another beta. Even if it's just for piece of mind. Sure lab errors can occur. I'm sorry that you're going through this - I know how much it sucks.
