Pink spotting @ 9dp6dfet - freaking out
Hi!
I am 9dp6dfet. I cheated and hpt'd on 6dp6dfet just to "get my bearings" with a negative pee-stick. To my shock it was positive. I went in the following day for a beta (even though my first beta is not even scheduled until August 16th) and it was 78 at 7dp6dfet. This morning, I started spotting - like a pee-size tan color. 6 hrs later, after going to the bathroom & wiping, it's a very light pink. I'm sorry to be such a nervous nelly - but I am freaking out! I was so happy to get the 78 beta so early but now I'm wondering if it's over before I even get started. I can honestly say that if I had waited to do my first beta on the 16th (like I was supposed to), I would be attributing this to implantation, but wouldn't that have already taken place...especially since my beta came back positive? Thanks for any feedback/advice. (PS - I do have some slight abdominal cramping & lower back pain but I've been like that for a week now.)

I am sorry you are having to worry about this. First of all take a deep breath and try to remain as calm as you can.....anxiety and worry is not good at this stage. You are really early........if anything, you should be very positive about a 78 beta, and a positive HPT. That being said, how many embryos did you transfer? With multiples, there is a very common chance of spotting and the backache and cramping that you are talking about.
If you can, try to take it easy, and call your doc early in the day tomorrow and see what their recommendations are. Usually, they just tell you to take it easy, and to call if there are any changes. There is really nothing to do at this point in time, except to maybe up your PIO......but, that would depend on how much you are on. Hang in there......you will be in my thoughts. Margaret Anne |

First of all - I LOVE LOVE your name!!!!!
Thank you for responding to my question. You've already made me feel better. I did forget to mention what I transferred. After 6 failed cycles with varying transfer of 3-4 embryos or blasts, this time we chose to transfer: 3-6day blasts, Grade 4AA (best is 5AA) 1-5day blast, Grade 3AA Do you think that might make a difference? When my RE called with my beta results on Thursday, she said my progesterone & estrogen levels were perfect. I am currently on 100mg of PIO every evening. Thanks! |

Hi, Nikka -
Thanks for your reply and congrats on your twin pregnancy! I hope you have a happy/healthy pregnancy. I am not taking prometrium but PIO shots so I don't think I have any irritation of the cervix. Is that perhaps why you might have bled? The slight cramping is making me nervous, too. I keep trying to remember if this was different from my last pg (lost at 6w3d) but I just can't remember. Again...good luck & congrats! Sam |

I'm so sorry that you're going through this with spotting. I went through the same thing this pg from beta time for almost two weeks. I really thought that it was over. My RE literally shrugged off the spotting, mumbled something about implantation and everything has been fine. I'm 26w5d. It's hard to believe that it's normal, but the more (and more and more LOL) threads I read regarding spotting, it seemed that it was. Very best of luck.
BTW, I didn't have any spotting at all with dd. It's true...every pregnancy is different!!! Congratulations and the very best to you! Athena

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm happy to say that the spotting had stopped by yesterday morning (started Sun, gone Mon). I still have slight cramping & now my uterus is getting that twingy/pully thing. My RE called today to chit-chat and she thinks this is a solid singleton pg but to be sure, I'm going in for an early u/s next Wednesday. I'm just praying & hoping for a healthy pregnancy! |
