Wierd beta and bleeding question

I am pretty sure that this is not a viable pregnancy so it is okay for everyone to be completely honest with me here. A little history-I have 4 beautiful children 5,4,2, and 1 and would love to have one more. I had a history of infertility initially and a very sad loss with my first pregnancy. After having my first daughter from a frozen cycle we have, thankfully, been able to conceive on our own. I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks this past March. Needed a D&C and was bummed but wanted to try again soon. So about 3 weeks ago missed my period and had a positive HPT. I was supposed to go in for a beta but started bleeding. My beta was 423 at about 34 days past my LMP. I went in a couple of days later and it had dropped to 300something so I just waited for the bleeding to stop. It stopped after about 5-6 days and I thought everything was just back to normal and we would try a again. Well, after about a week I was still really, really tired and had some occasional cramping. Then started bleeding again. I took an HPT and it is still very positive. I have a call in to my doctor now since I have been bleeding now since Friday and still + HPT. This is just so weird and quite frankly a real pain. We really would like to try again but I don't know why this is happening. My questions are: has this ever happend to anyone here? Would you please let me know the details if so?

I would assume since my last HCG was in the 300's and with the bleeding that my HCG would have dropped to 0 a while ago now. This is just really bothering me and I know so many knowledgeable people are on this board so I would really appreciate any thoughts or help you can share. Thanks so much.
