Hi Heather,
First Congrats on your ++++ beta! My RE only does 2 betas too and it did drive me insane! I found the wait b/w 2nd beta and u/s to be very difficult and filled with anxiety. Deep breaths. I hope you can find some good distractions until your u/s. Good luck! |

Just my 2 cents
These clinics are getting thousands of dollars to give you infertility treatments. If the betas are borderline, the least they can do is a third beta if it will give you peace of mine.
I wouldn't stand for it. I would demand another beta if I felt it was warranted. My clinic actually did quite a few, can't remember how many exactly but more than 3. Good luck, wishing you peace as you wait for your first u/s. And congrats! |

I totally agree with lalala. I had my RE's office write an order that allowed me to go every other day until U/S - I eventually stopped going b/c it was so inconvenient but i did 6 or 7 tests. I paid for them so they didn;t care. If you ask and the nurse says no, you might want to think about asking to speak to the RE directly as this is stressful and they should provising you additional information during this process if that's what you need and ask for!!!

pg & m/c ment'd
Mine only did 2 betas too. It wasn't so bad this last time since my betas were so high and the u/s was within 2 w. But I did have a pg before that that ended in m/c and the wait from beta #2 to u/s was 3 weeks. For peace of mind I'd probably insist on at least one more beta before u/s or I'd do hpt's at home to make sure they stayed + until u/s day (which is what I did this time around )Good luck!! This wait is torture!!!!! ![]() Angela

Heather20 - hang in there - I have seen them go both ways - earlier this month I had a beta of 16, 2nd of 41...3rd of 31 and then lost. Then you have Heather38 who had a first beta of like 30 a second of 50 and just saw the heartbeat yesterday.
Don't go by the POAS anymore - even if they are set at 100, they pick up much less with a lighter line. I was only a 16 and got a pregnant on a digital set at 25. Good luck! Isabelle |

I only had 2 and was glad for it. I didn't want to CONTINUE to torture myself. Once they're doubled, they're doubled and it's most likely not a chemical which is why they do them. I was content and NEVER wished for another one. I look at some people who keep going back for them and just think it would be sheer torture for me. Having said that; I have not been overly concerned w/ things and my numbers were strong. Situation may be different if they were not. Good luck to you!!
