When do betas stop doubling?
Hi there,
New here - but what a great resource this board is! My background - 29, first pregnancy, conceived naturally after 4 months. I had bad cramping earlier this week at approx. 5 week mark so my doctor sent me off to get my levels tested (cramping has now stopped). 26DPO 41 312 28DPO 54 604 (approx. 45 hours later) A couple of questions if anyone is able to help: 1. Do these levels seem really high? 2. The nurse I spoke to today said that my levels should have doubled from my first test, i.e. be around 80000. From my research I'm not sure that's correct - once you get past a certain level doesn't it take longer than 48 hours for the levels to double? If that was true I'd be well over 200000 at 6.5 weeks! Thanks for anyone's help! Am having ultrasound on Monday.

Copied this for you:
Beta hCG levels should double approximately every 2 days for the first four weeks of pregnancy [2]. As pregnancy progresses the doubling time increases. By 6 to 7 weeks gestation beta hCG levels may take as long as 3 1/2 days to double [3,4].
