I'm hoping for 2. This IS my 1st pregnancy and I'm 33. I've done IVF once before and put 3 B grade embies in. This time I really wanted to make it count since this is the last time my insurance would pay for it. I begged my RE to put in 4. In the end we had 6 excellent. I don't know why the quality was so much better this time. Maybe is was the acupuncture twice a week and all of the dietary changes the acupuncturist had me do. I'm really hoping it's only 2, but I'll take 3!! I'm just really freaking out. I've been spotting for the past 3 days with like a tannish/pinkish color. The nurse said it was completely normal and okay, but it still freaks me out!! They said to call if it turns red, otherwise not to worry. It's seems like you get over one hurdle, then there's always another. I guess it will be that way for the rest of my life now with having children. I will always worry!!!

Well, I think that is great. How exciting. We only transferred 2 AAA blasts. It was my first and only IVF/ICSI cycle. I am 28, never been pregnant. Did 3 IUI's that failed miserably. I have never been pg either. I am sooooo incredibly glad that my doc said NO WAY to transferring 3. That's what I wanted and he said Absolutely NOT!! I look at it this way, had I not listened to him.. I would definitely be carrying 3 instead of 2 cuz the one split!! Yowzer. I am not cool w/ that. Having twins is fine and I'm nervous enough as it is..
I am very surprised when I hear that docs will put back more than 3. I know it must happen a lot but here in MN, it is not the norm. My doc said he never does that. 3 at most. In fact, my mom was 46 at time of transfer and they would not put back more than 3. Good thing cuz she got twins anyway!! Plus, her first IVF (she was 44), they put back 3 and she got pg with triplets but lost 2--- resulting in healthy singleton. Did you do any IUI's?? I'm really excited for you and cannot wait to hear how many are in there!! That is the most exciting part!! Re: the bleeding/spotting.. are you on PIO?? I never spotted (knock on wood) but had full blown bleeding 8dpiui in the past.. so the doc was taking NO chances and put me on double dose of PIO AND suppositores this time. It worked like a charm. I stayed on til 13 weeks cuz I was taking no chances. I always thought in my head that if I even saw a spot of blood I would up my dosage (w/ or w/o doc permission!!) Anyway, I'm sure it's fine. A lot of women spot. Keep us updated please we're pulling for you!! |
