Has anyone heard that if betas more than double in 2-3 days in can mean twins? or can singletons do this also? Here are my #s:
Beta #1 5/10 - 242 (12dp5dt)
Beta #2 5/14 - 1205 (16dp5dt)
There was almost a 5x increase (even though it was 4 days later)
Does anyone have any thoughts or knowledge on this?
Thanks in advance!

To be honest it is very hard to tell by Betas alone what is in there. Singletons can do that to Beta's too. My betas never doubled exactly and started off at 68 or so on 14dpo and I have twins in there. Most of the time you really just don't know until that first u/s. Sorry I am of no more help. If you want twins I hope you get them!!

My numbers were high as well and way more than doubling, too. But I had an ultrasound yesterday and it's a singleton. You just can't tell by the numbers alone.
11 DPO - 59 (progesterone 26)
14 DPO - 451
25 DPO - 24,544
Good luck to you.

My beta started off really (REALLY!) high & this is a singleton pg. At roughly 5 weeks pg, my # was already close to 60,000 - which is typical of about 10 weeks of pg. It explains why I was feeling so horrible, at least, but so far, ultrasounds show just one baby in there! My 1st pg was more 'normal' with respect to beta numbers.
Good luck to you!

At 10 weeks my beta is only 20,000 and I'm pregnant with identical twins. Nurse says with the two strong h/bs beta doesn't matter anymore but I am concerned. Isn't 20,000 very low for 10 weeks? It was 17,000 at 6 weeks so it's barely risen. Any input appreciated. Thanks.

lala,
Usually around 8-10 weeks beta's start to decline for the rest of your pregnancy. Is my understanding. So, it could very well have risen and is now on the downswing! 2 good heartbeats is WONDERFUL!!
Congrats.
