Do you think this is a viable pregnancy?
I had 2 IUIs with injectables on 11/9 and 11/10. I got a BFP on 11/24 and these are the beta's so far:
11/23 48 11/27 184 12/11 2535 I had my first u/s yesterday and I couldn't see very much considering I'm supposed to be a little more than 6 weeks and my doctor warned me of a possible miscarriage. So far, I have not had any bleeding or cramping and I still feel pregnant. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Smiley99 _______________________ Pina (36), Dh (37) TTC#2 IUI#1 - BFN IUI#2 - BFP (EDD 8/2/07) dd born 1/14/04

It is so hard to say based on betas alone, but based on your numbers there is no reason to worry!!
As for the u/s from what I have heard, if you have a tilted uterus, it can make it harder to view the baby. Also, if you implanted a day or so later it can also make a difference as every day things change. I would say, try to keep a positive thought!!

I'd hate to say this but it doesn't this pregnancy doesn't look very promising. I had another beta done yesterday and it was only 2765 (not a big increase from Monday's beta of 2535). My doctor pretty much confirmed it was more than likely a non-viable pregnancy. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound at the hospital on Monday to confirm what's going on. I would be past 7 weeks by then so they should see a heartbeat if all is well. Right now, I'm not overly optimistic. I haven't had any bleeding or cramping but I think that's inevitable right now and will need to wait for that to happen.
Thanks for your support and prayers - I wish it had turned out differently. Best of luck to all of you! Pina |

Hi Leslie - can I ask you a question? I hope it's not too personal. I know that you suffered a miscarriage and not knowing much about them, was it like a typical AF, except heavier. I stopped taking progesterone last Friday and since then, I have had brown spotting w/small clots but nothing major. It is very light and not even close to AF so I don't know if this is the beginning of a miscarriage or something else. I have my next ultrasound tomorrow which should finally put my mind to rest with this pregnancy. Any information you could share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Pina

Leslie - thanks for the info, it really helped. It looks like I'll be miscarrying after all. Today's ultrasound wasn't much different - they saw the sac and possibly a fetal pole but not much else. Considering I'm getting close to 8 weeks, we should have seen the baby and the heartbeat. I noticed today that I'm bleeding a little heavier and it's more red than it has been. I still don't have cramps but that should be soon and I was told that they could be quite painful. I hope to be back on this board in the new year.
Good luck to all of you enjoying a healthy pregnancy!! Pina |
