Beta Not Quite Doubled...is that okay?

Hi All,

I'm so happy to be even posting on this bb, but am a little concerned about my beta's. I just completed IVF #5 and am very nervous that the rug will be pulled out from under me. Please let me know what you think of my second beta not quite doubling. It was about 7 pts shy of doubling, in fact. The beta's were as follows:

Beta #1: 12dp3dt--105
Beta #2: 14dp3dt--203

My RE didn't require me to go in for another beta and has scheduled me for an u/s next Thursday. Since he is not too concerned, I'm trying to stay hopeful, but I thought I would come and ask the experts. What do you all think?

Lynne

New freak out

Hi All,

Last night when I got home from thanksgiving at my sister's, I had some light pink spotting and cramping. I freaked out a bit and went straight to bed. Luckily, I was so exhausted I fell asleep right away and didn't obsess about it too much. I did wake up a couple of times during the night (to do progesterone) and the spotting seems to have stopped (TMI...Even when my finger came out from the progesterone, the blood was no longer). I know it couldn't have happened that long, because at 9:15 pm last night I put the progesterone in at my sisters and there was no blood. When I got home around ten is when I found the blood. Do you think my cervix could have been irritated from the progesterone? If that is the case, would I have had cramping?

I'm gonna call the doctor's office in a couple of hours when they open. Please tell me what you think this might be?? I'm still a bit freaked, but glad it has stopped.

Lynne

bleeding and beta

Well let me start with ?? no 1. My numbers did not exactly double at one of my checks but the 3rd adn 4th beta i more then made up for it. As for the bleeding.. when i was on progesterone supp. with my son i get VERY irritated from them. had some spotting then it went away. So they put me on POI injections.

Now with this pregnancy i bled all the way into my 21st week. not just spotting... passing clots the whole nine. i am at 30 weeks now and all is well.
(thank God)

reason for the bleeding... well early on they said that happens at times when the cervix begind to change to get ready for the important job of caring for baby.

The as i progressed they said it could be a tear in the placenta or the placenta tearing away from the uterus. either way... as long as i did not bleed out all would be fine. and thenk to the good Lord above it has been.

I know how nerve wracking this can be. Enjoy your pregnancy and congratulations.
