Luv B'ing a Mom Level 1
#'s, showing behind on u/s

Hi, this is my first post. A friend of mine recommended I check this out. I've read some posts and my heart goes out to all the ladies here. It is so hard waiting, for good news or bad news. I pray God will give us peace and joy!!

I am wondering what you ladies think of my situation, since you seem to have lots of knowledge!!! I do not have regular cycles. Never have. My first pregnancy 9 yrs ago ended in miscarriage. Since then I have had 3 beautiful children. Ages 8, 5.5 and 4. With each of the pregnancy's when I had my 1st u/s they would always move my due date ahead 1-2 weeks. I must ovulate later than the "average" women. I went off the pill about 10 mos. ago and finally found out I am pg. According to my cycle I should be 9 weeks and 3 days as of today. However, my period has only been coming every 1 1/2 to almost 2 months apart. Starting on Monday 10/9 I lightly started spotting. At that pt. I would have been by my period date 8 wks. They brought me in for a progesterone and hcg count. My progesterone was low and they started me on prometrium. My 1st hcg # was 23287 and my 2nd was 29315. The tests were a little less than 48 hrs. apart. On 10/17 I had my first u/s. The baby and the sac measured only 5wks 6 days. She said if I was truly only that far along things looked great. But that if I really should be further along, "things should work themselves out w/in the next week." We could not see a heartbeat at that time. I go back on 10/23 for another ultrasound and from the last u/s would be 6wks 5 days. From the other posts it seems I should be able to see a heart beat. So, we are believing we will and that for whatever reason I just ovulated really late.

What do you ladies think? Thank you!!

With irregular periods/cycles it is hard to tell when you ovulate, so it is VERY possible you ovulated a lot later. Hoping and praying for you and will be waiting for your updates. As far as a heartbeat, if you are only 5+ weeks it would be too early for that.
