High HCG question
Hi everyone,
I have a question, I hope my mind can be relieved a little. I had a partial molar pregnancy last year, actually 6 months ago. I am now pregnant again and worried it may be another one. Here are my levels: Current pregnancy: 3 weeks 5 days = 66.9 4 weeks 0 days = 164.8 4 weeks 2 days = 476.9 Partial Molar pregnancy: 3 weeks 5 days = unknown

I would say your numbers now look perfect. I know it is hard not to worry, but a beta 14d post ovulation of 165 is great. My numbers actually tripled instead of doubled and I ended up wiht a healthy singleton. Congrats and continued good luck.

Hi HPlacement,
First off, I'm terribly sorry about your molar pregnancy and totally understand being concerned again. I have read though, that although they are more prevalent with advanced maternal age (if that is even the case), they are not so common that more than one should be expected. I'm a little unclear, is 4w0d the same as 14dpo. If it is, I don't see that your numbers are all that off. The median doubling time at your stage is 30-40 hrs. I am currently pregnant after 2 years of ttc#1 and my numbers are much higher. Many think I'm having multiples but I will not know until Monday. 13dpiui - 258 16 dpiui - 553 20dpiui - 2374 A really great website that offers both average betas (for single and mult.) as well median doubling times is http://www.betabase.info/. It has really helped me gauge my progress. |

I don't think your #'s are too high. I'm 15 weeks pg and my #'s were:
16 dpo: over 600 18 dpo: about 1400 25 dpo: over 22,000!!!! Needless to say, I thought my #'s were high and we thought we were having more than 1 and maybe more than 2! but so far, it's only ONE!!! Good luck.

Hi AFWife06,
Thanks for your response. Let me know what happens at your ultrasound. I have one tomorrow, they want to see if they can see anything. 4 weeks 0 days does = 14 days post ovulation. I was more concerned with the numbers of 16 dpo, they are doubling every 30 hours. I am just reliving the molar pregnancy I think and have myself convinced it's repeating itself. |

Hello,
I thought I'd chime in with my high beta #s. At 12 dpo my beta was 234 and at 14 dpo (40 hrs later) it was 702. My doubling time was 25 hours. I am currently about 37 weeks pregnant with a singleton. Good luck - your numbers sound great! hmm |

Hi hplacement,
I don't blame you for being worried, having just gone through that. I have a friend who had a partial molar pregnancy, and it was really hard and scary for her. I hope your numbers this time only mean a strong, healthy bean! I was concerned about my high numbers and doubling time, and the nurse at my OB's office said that it probably just meant a healthy embryo. I hope everything goes great Friday and that you see something on the ultrasound. Let us know! hmm |

Thanks HMM,
The support on these sites is wonderful. I found a similar site when I was going through my partial molar that made it so much better. I found two wonderful ladies that I still keep in touch with. Sometimes it helps to just talk about it and especially to hear first hand that other people have high hcg numbers and all is ok. Please let me know about your pregnancy. You're getting close! Are you having a planned C-section or natural? Raquel |
