Beta question.. too low?

Hi girls,

Im new to this board and have a couple of questions...i really hope someone can help.

We had our first IUI on 9/8/06 (LMP was 8/27/06) I got my first faint bfp on 9/19/06 and really dark bfp on 9/22/06. I also had my beta done on 9/22/06 it came back at 69. The nurse said it was low and could end up in a miscarriage. My husband and I did a lot of research online and saw that we are in the range. Im really only about 2 weeks 2 days pregnant.
Does this number look good? I know you shouldnt go by the first beta results.. but i dont understand why the nurse would say that it was low and would end up in a miscarriage when that number is clearly in the range.

Please help.

Trying to stay calm.....

Thanks
Cynthia

cynthia, try to remain calm... i have heard of low betas turning out just fine. the key is to see if it doubles. then that would be a better insight.. please let us know what happens and i am sending positive thoughts your way

hi-pg is counted from lmp, so you are actually 4 weeks pg, not 2. the number is low, but many people had normal pg with such a number even lower. important is that it doubles in 3 days time. dont worry.

Alot depends on implantation..... the actual number really means nothing, it is the doubling. Can you ask to have it repeated/??? this is much more an indicator as you could have ovulated a day or two different than you thought or implantation could have happened at a different time. 69 truly is not a really bad number(like something like 8 ).... good luck. praying for you.
