it's only beta #1, but...

After 4 early m/c's and 3 IVFs...a natural pregnancy. Happy news, but—I am unaccustomed to not knowing my dpo. So here is my best guess

12-15dpo beta: 50

is it low but OK, or just low? Tomorrow is beta #2

Symptoms are very different from past pregnanices, which I guess is a good thing. Slightly nauseated, hardly any boob pain.

honest opinions?

thx

I'd in a similar position. My beta at 13dp5dt is 43.8. My RE said that it could be completely normal or it might not be. What matters is the rise, so it is just to soon to tell. Good luck!

Queen, when is beta #2 for you? Here is some encouragement. My 2nd beta is 132 in 1.5 days.

beta 1: 50 progesterone: 30
beta 2: 132 progesterone: 54.19 (1.5 days later)

breathing a little bit easier now. I hope that gives you hope. It is true: it's all about the rise. May you get a good one!

Paz -- That is such good news! Congratulations! You must feel a lot better and you give me hope! Do you have a third beta?

Mine is on Friday at 8:15. I just need to get through the next two days. My last cycle was a chem preg, but it started at 25, so we had a pretty good idea that it wasn't going to last. The waiting is so painfu

Beta # 3 is Friday at 7:30a. Sono next Tuesday — an early sono to make sure everything is happening where it should be, alhtough I have no history of ectopics...

I also had a 24 beta once. Lasted 6 weeks.

I was recently diagnosed with anticardiolipin anitbodies, which cause miscarriages. Every fertility related test I ahve had is me researching it and bringing a list to my doc. They have been very satisfied to assume it is my age. But I went to a new doc who said why assume. He tested me and I came out positive whereas in the past I was borderline. So this time I am on heparin, a blood thinner. So I am doing something different.

Let's touch base on Friday —%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$%$G OOD LUCK!!!!!!!!! I know the wait is awful, but your numbers are good.

Paz -- I'm so petrified. Actually, it's only number 2 for me. My RE said that it needs to go up from 43.8 to 72 (66%). Earlier this week I actually felt pg., but now not so much! If this doesn't work, it will be my second chem in a row, and I guess that means I should consider immune testing. My DH keeps telling me not to worry. I'll check in tomorrow. Good luck tomorrow!

Jennifer, my symptoms come and go too. I feel an intense pressure in my abdomen most times, then, usually in the evenings, it seems to go away. My friend who is also pg said hers come and go, some days she does not feel pregnant at all. And she is pg with twins! So, lack of symptoms don't mean much, but I panic about 10 x day over just that thing.

After 4 mc (2 were I guess what they call a chemical, but 2 were 7.5wks and 10 wks) I know how the repeated losses are. May this one be the one for you!!

btw, I tested pos for anticardiolipin ab just last month. So I am on heparin and baby aspirin. I hope it is the solution for me. Maybe it was a problem all along? But then again it could also be my age, I am 43. (43.75 actually—yikes)

I'll check back in tomorrow and I pray for good news for you.

full of hope for you,
Paz

Paz,

I really hope that this works out for both of us! Who did your testing for anticardiolipin? Is it just a blood test? I'm 33 so my RE has been really resistant to doing any immune or genetic testing, but my feeling is why keep going through losses when I could find something out now. After all it's only blood (well, and money). I've been thinking about calling Dr. Beers. I want to keep this moving along as quickly as possible.

I'll be thinking good thoughts and sending my prayers your way.

Let me know how it goes tomorrow! I usually hear b/w 1-2 so my good friend (and co-worker -- the only person other than my DH who knows what's going on) insisted that we go out for a long lunch so that I won't think about it as much.

We will see,

Jennifer

Yes, it is a simple blood test. I was tested for the full range of immune issues. I am also compound heterozygous for MTHFR - which is somewhere between clinically insignificant or a factor in combination with the anticardiolipin.

My doctor was also resistant to test me, he just assumes the losses are due to my age. So I went to a new doctor who felt that there was reason to explore other causes. The new doctor is out of town, so with my surprise pg here I am going through all of this with the local doc I've been with for a year.

I am at a conference right when your beta comes in. But believe me as soon as it is done, I will jump to a computer. I hear around 2-2:30 about mine. Those beta days are long aren't they? So are the nights before come to think of it...

My hemotologist in also out of town, she has a focus on reproductive medicine. I think any hemo will do though.

I'll look for you tomorrow! hopeful for us both.
