3rd Beta Results - nervous...

1st Beta 4/3 - 170
2nd Beta 4/7 - 748

Just got the results of my third beta today and it's at 3980. Apparently it did not double, but rather increased by a factor of 1.7. The RE's office said this was the lower range of what they consider acceptable. Now I'm worried

Is it really ok to not quite double at this stage? I'm at 5w2d.

Amybeth OK - you need to see a doubling time of 48-72 hours and as I calculated it you are well within that ranges, even if you doubled 72 the whole time. Dont worry, they look good to me, there are many that have been lower that have gone on to have healthy babies. Try and relax. Are they doing another? when is the u/s?

at 5w2d pg my hcg levels were 2676 - yours are higher than mine were. I also had an u/s that day and things looked perfect - great sized gestational sac and yolk sac. Why not ask for an u/s to ease your mind - at the point the u/s is what is most important, not the hcg levels.

My RE told me that once the beta gets into the 1200 range the doubling time can slow down to about 96 hours and still be normal. Your numbers look great to me.

Oh, thank you everybody for the great info! You're putting my mind much more at ease, especially with that bit about the beta slowing down after 1200 (thanks, Brooke!)

My RE wants to schedule a "pre-natal" visit (whatever that means) for next week (week 6) and then the first ultra sound sometime during the next week (week 7). That seems like such a loooooong time to wait I'm envious of those of you who get to have your ultrasounds so early!

What would I do without the incredible collective wisdom of this place?!?!?
