Beta levels too low??

Hey ladies! I'm hoping you can give me some hope...this is my first pregnancy and I am worrying way too much! I went in for my first beta 2 days after af was missed...I'm not sure when I o'd but I'm thinking it was late...sometime around cd20 this time, so I'm not too sure how many dpo I was. The nurse called and said my beta levels were 29...she was my family doctor's nurse, so I called my ob and she said that those levels were fine and nothing to worry about, she didn't even want to test me again unless I started bleeding or something...so the only way I have of knowing that my levels are going up is from my pregnancy tests from home....here is one that I took a week ago, after I got the blood test done....

And then I took this one this afternoon (6weeks) to see if the line got darker, and it got MUCH darker....

Do you think I can take that as a pretty good indicator that my levels are increasing, or should I be worried about my low levels? My first appointment isn't until April 10th, and it's so hard not to worry until then. Thanks so much for your advice in advance!

I'm not an expert, but I would think that a darker line on the same test would mean more hcg in your system. I know my lines got darker as my betas increased. Congratulations!!

thank you so much for replying! i wish i could get another test done to make sure my levels are going up...but the test that i got wasn't even from my ob, it was from my family doctor cause my ob said that since i had 3 strong bfp on hpts that she didn't need to confirm it, so i went to my family doctor to get one done just cause i needed a doctor to tell me i for sure was pregnant before i could believe it! haha they said they didn't need to do another test either because my levels looked fine...i just thought they seemed really low! I guess the doctor knows more than me though and i shouldn't worry so much. i think my ob will reconfirm it when she does all the blood testing at my appointment on April 10th (a little over 8 weeks), and we'll get an u/s too, but the waiting is killing me!

Anyone else have any advice??

November~~ Don't stress that is the worse thing you can do right now. Take it in stride. My 1st beta was 67 and they told me as long as my number doubled 48 hours later I was good to go, 47 1/2 lhours ater it was at 188. I can't tell you what day that was past ovulation because we think I had "O" late. If you can call back your Dr and ask them to send a lab slip in for a second beta so you can ease your mind. Expalin to them that you are still very weary and worried and you don't want to M/C because of the stress of worrying... I will be praying for you that all is fine.... Keep us updated!!!!

NovemberMom,
I agree with Kelpm. Call your family dr and ask for a lab slip just to put your mind at ease. Remember, it's not the number that's important it's what is happening over time. For my 1st pg my first beta came in at 16 -- and now my DD is 2 1/2 years old! An isolated number isn't the most important part, it's whether or not the number is getting larger which shows growth. If your hpts are getting darker and you are using the same brand each time, I think that's a really good sign. Let us know if you have success with your Dr. and keep us posted.

Thank you all. I think I might wait it out a little longer...my first appointment is just in a couple of weeks and I'll get an u/s and everything...so I think I just need to be patient instead of wasting money. I just need to have faith that everything will work out okay. I have been feeling great....no bleeding....normal "pregnant" symptoms....my hpts keep getting darker....so everything seems to be going well as far as I can tell, I just can't help but worry, and I know that's not good. What did you all do to make yourselves not worry so much? Dh and I have been ttc for 8 months now, so we are very very excited. I am a stay at home wife, so I think I just need to find myself a hobby...all I do is sit around and think about the baby and hope everything is going right. I am on great pregnatals....have been since I started ttc, so I really shouldn't worry. If anything happens it just was meant to be that way, and I keep needing to remind myself of that I guess.

I think your tests look great!!! I wouldn't take any more though because after your #'s get so high the test won't get any darker. The line may even look lighter sometimes. I took a test at around 5 weeks and I was disappointed that my line didn't look much darker than it did a few days before. By then though my numbers were so high that it just didn't make a big difference with the test. I had a million betas so I knew they were increasing appropriately. It's hard to wait for that u/s but try not to be scared!!!
