    very low beta, advice?

I just went through my first IVF cycle (transferred 2 perfect blasts on day 5). I had my first beta yesterday (11dp5dt) and I was told it was indeterminable and that I needed to come in this morning for a repeat. When I asked the nurse what the number was she said it was a 14.8. I also asked what my prog. level was and was told a 13.7. I am currently taking 1 PIO shot a day. I asked if the RE wanted to increae my prog. and was told no. I did go in for the b/w this morning and won't know until this afternoon. I have read enough to know that they need to see a steady rise in numbers and that more often than not a low number like this ends in a chemical pregnancy. I also know that both my DS were late implanters. Both times I was told that it probably was not a viable pregnancy and they are now 6 and 4. I have been going to my RE for many years and he has helped me achieve each of my pregnancies. My prog. has always been very low and I have had to take supplements. 13.7 seems low to me and I guess I just don't know why he wouldn't incerase it. It is not like it will change the beta #. Any advice is helpful. Thank you.

I don't have any advice for you but I wanted to say that I've learned that with pregnancy anything is possible. Don't give up hope yet, especially since your other children were late bloomers. Also, I've heard of women with lower progesterone levels going on to have healthy pregnancies too, maybe your doc needs to increase your dose? I'm praying for you sweetie

Thank you so much for your reply and kind words. I received a call from the nurse late yesterday and was told that my beta was the same, so I was instructed to go off the prog. and set up a consult with the RE. I was also told that if I did not get AF in a week to call them. Obviously, I was upset and disappointed, but even more than that I was upset at the insentivity at which I am given my results. Actually, I have to always ask them what exactly my levels are. I think the nurse sensed that I was upset (why wouldn't I be) and she did say that she was sorry. My comment to her was didn't they need to see that my level went down to 0. She again said to call if I didn't get Af in a week. Ten minutes later she called to say that she spoke with the IVF coordinator and that they want me to come in on Monday for a repeat beta to see that it is 0. In the evening, my RE called to see how I was doing, which was very nice. He agreed that things could not have gone better for me this cycle (especially for my age - 39). So, now I just wait to get AF. Thanks again for your prayers.
