Monica2 Level 1
second beta

Our second beta was 1945, which according to this website I found means a doubling rate of 52.7 hours, pretty good for this level of beta. I am a little more worried than I was before, just from habit, but still feeling pretty sanguine.

I can't remember whose post wondered whether we are better off with all this information. I wonder that myself. I am supposed to go back on Wed. for another beta. DH wants the info, I'm like, why mess with it. All it does is give you something to wait by the phone for, then obsess about. As we say on the pg after loss board, today I am pregnant! That's all we really can say anyway.

As for a US, there they want me in early too. They are saying come in at 6w to make sure it's not ectopic, etc. Well with numbers like this, how would it be ectopic? And if it were going gangbusters in my tube , I think I would be able to feel it! My RN said they should be able to see an HB at 6w but I recall from my loss days that that's not necessarily true. Then if (heaven forfend) you don't see one, it's well, give it a week and come back and it's the longest week of your life. Anyway I think I will push them off until at least next Friday, which I think makes me 6w3d or something like that -- every day counts so early like this. I honestly think everything will be fine, but I just hate the mind games. Plus, with my history of incompetent cervix I will be having my cervix checked every 5 minutes (after a cerclage at 14 weeks) starting around 20 weeks (or less), so who needs all this intervention early on?!?! DD already thinks mommy lives at the doctor's office. It's not as if they can do anything if things are not proceeding apace. Argh!!!

ANYWAY the bottom line is these are good problems to have! Take care everybody.

CONGRATS!!! I just love your attitude!! Sometimes, it does seem like it's too much info!! But after having a hish risk pg and now I'm low risk, it's hard to not have all that knowledge...two betas and 6 and 8 wk u/s. So, either way, at least we are PG!!!
