Thirds Beta Result...Still Not Good
Hi Girls...
Had my third beta today, my numbers still stink and my RE is not ruling out ectopic. My numbers look like this...14dpiui 106 16dpiui 164 23dpiui 806 (today) My RE wanted to see my numbers in the thousands by today and was very discouraged that it did not happen. So I am scheduled for an ultrasound on Monday to hopefully see what's going on. I'm trying to keep my chin up and think positive thoughts. I'm hoping like crazy that this little butter bean is just like me....LAZY! If any of you have encouraging stories of successful pregnancies that started out with stinky numbers, I would love it if you would share! Hugs and prayers to everyone!!!

Hi Beth,
I dunno. I have numbers quite similar to yours and my RE is not discouraged at all. My beta yesterday was at 783 and equates to 22dpo. <shrug> Everything I understand about these numbers are that if they're doubling ABOUT every 48 hours, it's a reasonably good thing. The u/s tells the tale, of course, but I can only try to reassure you that my numbers are really close to yours and my clinic (one of the best in this part of the country) isn't concerned at all. Do let us know on Monday eh? (Mine's Monday too!) Samantha

Beth, try to stay positive. I don't think it is as important what the numbers are. Is is more important that they double every 48-72 hours. Your last two numbers seem to be doing that. You may just have a late implanter.
Good luck to both of you on your u/s's Monday!!

Latest Beta numbers
I was pretty happy today. My Dr. said my HCG is 129 (18 DPT):
14 DPT - 62 16 DPT - 74 So I think is it taking me 72 hours to double. I have to get blood work again my Monday. That's fine, I am ok with it all. As long as I feel morning sickness. I think that Beth is doing good. I lookes this website: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/dur...hcglevels.html I understand the worries, it so hard not to let what the Drs say affect you. Think Positive and Prayer Good luck. |

Thanks girls for your encouragment! I'm really hating the fact that we even know what beta numbers are! My girlfriends who are not dealing with fertility issues, never even knew what a beta number was until they met me. They just did hpt's and had their pregnancies confirmed by their doctor and their pregnancies were up and running. Why can't it be that simple for us! Sometimes I wish I just didn't know so much. My mom, who had 2 perfectly healthy pregnancies didn't know a tenth of what I know and she said it's a good thing because she said she would have worried herself sick if she had. My ultrasound is Monday morning at 9:00 and since I'll be 6wks 3days on Monday I'm hoping to be able to see a heartbeat. Maybe I'll breath a little easier then, and I'll have to find something else to worry about.
Hugs and prayers to all of you girls! I'm praying very hard that we all have happy healthy pregnancies. I think if I ever get pregnant again I'm going to tell my doctor that I don't want to know what my beta numbers are.

Hi Girls ...Thank you so much for your prayers. I know that each and every prayer was heard. But sometimes God has other plans for us that are out of our control but are of course in our best interests.
My ultrasound today showed that this is just not a viable pregnancy and my beta numbers are down from 806 on Thursday to 60 today (I wish that number had gone up as quickly as it came down). But at least we know now that I CAN get pregnant and we'll wait for my next period and try, try again. If I could make infertility completely disappear for all of us I would at any cost. But ya know, I think we are all much stronger because of our battle than people who do not have fertility struggles. And I think that we have a better appreciation for the miracle and gift of life. Once again thank you all so much for the prayers and well wishes. God knows what He's doing and we are just putting it all in His hands. I'm just so thankful that He allowed me to experience pregnancy, even if only for a short while, and I pray that He blesses me with that again. Hugs and prayers to everyone that we all have successful, happy, healthy pregnancies.
