Worry, worry, worry!

Hi guys!

I feel like I'm in a play, playing the part of someone newly pregnant. After so many years, it feels like it can't possibly be real. And ohhh, so scared to let it hit me, as something might go wrong! Ugh... And worry worry worry. My betas are going up, but they seem low compared to what everyone else posts. My first ultrasound isn't until the 21st, so, in the meantime, is there any reassurance to be had from these numbers? Are they okay do ya think?

1st beta, at 9dp5dt (corresponds to 14dpo): 71
2nd beta, at 11dp5dt (or, 16dpo): 120
3rd beta, today, at 13dp5dt (or, 18dpo): 263

The next one is Thursday, then they'll stop. The ultrasound is the 21st. Aggg... wish I could stop worrying about this! What do you all think?

Thanks!

Samantha

Samantha,
This is my first pregnancy and I too have worried because my betas seemed lower than everyone elses. This sight was on another thread, and I have really enjoyed looking at it. I think if you check it out, you will find that your numbers are actually very normal. Congrats and good luck.

Hi Girls!

Winterlily, I REALLY know how you feel. I am concerned about my betas too, and even though I have tried not to think about it because everyone has a different beta story to tell, I can't help but obsess over it. My first beta was 106. But the second one 48 hours later did not double, it was only 164. And my RE isn't doing another beta until Thursday. So I'm sitting on pins and needles hoping and praying that we will see a significant jump in my 3rd beta. Hugs and prayers to you, and everyone else too. I hope we are all blessed with healthy pregnancies!

Thanks so much everyone -- I really appreciate it!! (And thanks for the Web site, too!) I'm going to TRY to relax. (HA!)

Beth, my next (and last if the numbers are good) beta is Thursday too! Do you get results the same day? Let me know how they were? My first ultrasound is Monday -- I'm SO excited, and, well, scared to death, too!

Thanks again!

Samantha

Samantha, yes I get my numbers back the same day, usually within about 2 hours my RE's nurse will call me. Based on your transfer date, looks like you and I have a close due date. My IUI was 6/21 and my due date is March 10. I'm keeping everything crossed for you! Be sure to come back and post your numbers when you get the results back, I'll do the same. Hugs and prayers to you!

Hi guys!

The update is that today's beta was 783 - so just about doubling every day. The u/s Monday will be more telling, I think! At least that's what they keep telling me! They're very cautious, I think, and want to see the numbers about doubling, but their faith lies in the u/s it seems.

And you Beth? Let me know, eh??

Samantha

Hey Samantha! Your numbers sound great! I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you to have a good ultrasound on Monday.

My beta today was not so encouraging. At 23dpiui my beta was only 806, a third of what it should be. So my RE is thinking possible ectopic, or just not a viable pregnancy. I go for an ultrasound on Monday and we'll know more then. Until then, I am not losing hope, and I am not ready to throw in the towel. I think my baby is just like his/her mom...LAZY!

Hugs and prayers to everyone.

Hi winterlily -- Best of luck with your US on Mon. How far along will you be? Don't take this the wrong way, but try not to get your expectations too high as to what you will see. These early USs lots of times they don't see much. Good luck!!!
