not good doubling :(
I had a natural cycle and I tested way early (8dpo??) and got a light positive. Due to my history of losses I waited until at least 13dpo to even go in for a beta. It came back at 123 and prog at 10. I've always had prog issues so I went in and had a PIO shot. Well 48 hours later I had a repeat beta and it didn't go up nearly as it should. I was just in such shock that I can't remember if she said it only went up 50 points or it went to 150. My prog dropped too. The nurse said she spoke to my RE and they are calling it chemical.
If it is a chemical, wouldn't the betas be dropping and fast? That is what happend last time. I know that the actual prog is higher due to the PIO that wasn't picked up on the bw, but I still have no bleeding. I thought for sure I'd start bleeding by now. All I have is cramps. I can handle a chemical, but I am just terrified of an ectopic. I've had 3 so far but all on my left side. I know I can't have another one on that side but I won't bore you with those details. I just wish whatever happens happens and I can start to move on. I'm not holding out much hope, but I know stranger things can happen (like putting a hole in the stump of a tube which was removed due to rupture and having another ectopic implant there) Yep, I seem to have those "powerball" odds happen to me, but never in a good way Thanks for any input

Hi Samandnatalie,
I am sorry about your losses. I have had 3 m/cs, 2 of those were chemical. I went in after a positive hpt, and my beta was 98. Then I went in 2 days later and beta was 249. I was excited that it was climbing, but when i returned 2 days after that, the numbers had fallen. I was heartbroken of course. I went back 2 weeks later and my beta had risen to 1250. I was extremely confused about the whole thing. The doc said that it was a mc, there was nothing showing on the u/s. He also said that it could have been a lab mistake, or possibly a multiple pg. Because my beta slowly fell, he had to do a d & c. I dont have much faith in beta numbers now, especially low ones. Dont give up hope. Everything COULD be ok. |

thanks for the support!! I had yet another beta on Monday and it was around the same as last week. They speculated it rose over the weekend and then fell again. My progesterone fell to a 2. Still not bleeding yet which is very strange!!
I am going for yet another beta tomorrow. I am a high risk for ectopic since I have had 3. I'm praying for just a normal m/c now. I really have no faith that this will work out. i will keep you update though. Ana |
