how does this beta number look?

Hi everyone,

I just had my 1st beta done but I don't know when I o'd so I don't know if this number is good or not. I believe that we conceived on May 22 and the beta on june 13 was 4009. How does this look? We lost our first child and I think that this number was higher that the 1st beta of my dd who is now 1 but I can't remember. I will have a second beta on Wed to make sure that it goes up nicely.

Thanks for your help.

Sheri

It sounds like you may have been about 5 weeks pg when your hcg level was tested in which case a 4009 would be just fine. I think mine was in the 4000's at that point too. I would suggest going to either www.ivfer.com or to www.betabase.info (I think that is the correct site) and check out some of the charts they have there. Another thing, beta doubling times do tend to slow down the higher the levels get so don't be too concerned if your number goes up but doesn't double.

Thanks Genevieve,

My number went up nicely on Wed to 8069 and it was about 40 hrs after the first blood test. My dr. is happy with these numbers but I still have to go on progesterone and low dose aspirin.
