Help with Beta number, please

Can someone please help? My very best friend just found out she is pregnant after her 2nd clomid/IUI cycle. Her beta number today (18 days past the IUI) was around 330 or so (I can't remember the exact number, but I know it was over 300). The nurse seemed pleased and they have basically told her to make an appt with her GP and carry on from there.

Is this a good, strong number? What should it be at that stage?
She is understandably still in shock and nervous. They have been ttc for over 2 years.

Any help would be appreciated, so I can ease her mind somewhat.
Thanks!
Sweetpea

The number looks fine, but she should have a follow up beta just to make sure it continues to rise. A u/s in a week or so should also give her more info.

I wish her the best of luck for an uneventful 9 months!

The number sounds good. Mine at 17 DPO was 377. But.... as Kathy said she really should have followup bloodwork to be sure. Its really the doubling time that seems to matter the most, not the starting number. Also it sure is reassuring to go and get an ultrasound and see a little heartbeat.

Thanks so much. I'll be sure to pass along your recommendation for a 2nd beta. I don't know about the clinic she went to, as they seem to basically have sent her off with no real instructions for what to do now. It's hard, when you've been relying on them so much, to suddenly feel on your own. She does have an appt with her GP next Wed, so if the clinic won't do another beta, I am sure the GP will do it if she asks. She is also going to request an ultrasound as well, at the appropriate time.

Thanks again. I'm so happy for her and I really hope this is a very healthy, happy, successful pregnancy. Good luck to everyone.
