Exclamation Worried...extremely high beta !!

I had my first DIUI April 13th.
I had injectables of gonal-f
I had 4 follicles but rather than cancel the cycle i had the trigger shot and was scanned the day of proposed IUI (36 hours after trigger)
Only one follicle had ruptured so IUI went ahead.

I developed signs of pregnancy when my period was due, increase in urination, tender breasts and hunger !
I did two home tests which were positive.

On 28th April my clinic checked my beta

15 days post IUI it was.... 1,257

Oh my God !! I am so pleased to be pregnant but terrified how many there are. Could the other follicles have ruptured much later?? Could it be molar?? Can you get levels this high with a singleton??

Nothing i have read about has levels anywhere near this high.
I am now 5 weeks and two days pregnant, sore breasts, a little tired at end of day, very hungry, frequent urination but feeling very well.

CAN ANYBODY HELP???
I am having a scan on 18th May as clinic think more than one baby but it seems a million years away.

I would say there is probably more than one in there...

My beta at 15dpIUI with my older dd was 392 and I was told that that was "very high" for a singleton.

It is very possible that the other follicles ruptured after the u/s. I would bet that there is more than one baby in there....

Thanks for your replies ...I am so worried, we were told only 1 follicle ruptured so we didnt expect a multiple pregnancy. I have a prolapsed disc in my spine so more than one would be pushing my luck anyway. I just havent found levels anywhere near this high anywhere on the web.....even women who had triplets dont seem this high ! I know I must wait for the scan but it seems every day lasts a year ! I cant get excited about finally being pregnant as I am so scared

Please let us know how your scan goes. Your number is really high. However, even with your disc in your spine, you may be able to do more than you think. If there is more than one, talk to other multiple moms...I know many with health problems...one with bad hip problems. Doc told her not to even carry one...she had triplets at 36 weeks!!!

Hugs and good luck!!! Congratualtions on being pregnant!

You just never know with betas, but I'd venture to say you have more than one nestled down in there. My betas were 499 at 12dpt and 1392 at 14dpt and I had triplets.

We have been asked to carefully consider wether to continue with them all ??!! I dont know which way to turn.

HI there,
Just thought you might like to hear my beta #s for comparison. At I think 15 days past IUI my beta was 745 two days later(17 dpo) it was over 4,000, I don't remember the exact #. We were really terrified by the thought of multiples again, but at the u/s there was only one little baby bean in there growing away. I know there is another thread here with other women's high betas, I'll try to find it for you. Betas are tricky, sometimes really high ones result in singletons and really low ones find multiples.

Lauren

Here's the thread I was referring to http://www3.fertilethoughts.com/foru...ight=high+beta
