Question about u/s timing for heartbeat & how doctors calc due date?

When they do the u/s for heartbeat, how do they determine when? 6 weeks from what date?? I did a 5 day transfer on March 30th. Also, does anyone know how the doctor's figure out due dates when it's done through IVF? Let me know if you need more dates for anything! Thanks

I asked the same question a few weeks ago so I hope I get this right. If not, someonw will correct. If you transferred on March 30 with 5 day old blasts then you count back five days. That would mean you "ovulated" on March 25. I think you would be around 5 weeks pregnant then by those calculations. I transferred on March 22 with 5 day blasts and I am now 6 weeks pregnant. I will have my first u/s on April 22 (7 weeks).

I had a 5dt on March 30 as well. I was told my due date is 12/16/05. CJP - you and I should have the same due date and I'd think Suzan's should be 8 days earlier - the 8th?

Age 44/DH 41 – Married 1 ½ years
I have 2 natural children by first marriage, daughters 16 and 10
DH has no children - this is his one and only marriage
TTC #3 with DH for 2 years
1 IUI – May 2004
1 DE IVF August 2004 – 10 eggs retrieved, 6 fertilized, 3 3-day embryos transferred – failed
1 Frozen cycle with 3 embies – failed
Changed clinics
1 IUI – January 2005 – failed
2nd DE IVF – March 25th retrieval – 27 eggs – 21 fertilized
March 30th – transferred 2 blasts and 1 morula
Beta done 4/11/05 BFP!!!!!!!! 575 12dp5dt – YEA!!!!!

Yup. The estimated due date is Dec. 8 which is one day after my husband's. Wouldn't that be a great present. Keep in touch. I think it would be fun to compare notes on how we are feeling since we are all so close!!!!

There is a link to the Due Date calculator, if you enter your retrival date it will calculate your due date. I was not sure how it worked but it has something to do with your last AF. Which if we had regualr cycles would be two weeks before your retreival. or something like that

I used it when I first got my BFP and the date were the same as what my Dr. gave me.
