Beta question, please help!

My first beta at 14 dpo was 590. My second at 16 dpo was 1929. I had my 3rd beta this morning and it was 3943. I know that it doubled, What concerns me (I know, I know) is that the first set--14 to 16 dpo more than tripled. The rate has slowed down now to just a doubling??? I seriously don't know why I am stressing about every single little thing.
Could the rate slowing down be a bad thing? They don't want to do any more blood draws
Can I be any more neurotic?

I wouldn't worry about that at all. Your betas are great, and indicate either a very strong singleton pregnancy or possibly twins. Can't wait to hear which way!

Hello,

I am a newbie here and decided to post, although I have been 'lurking' for the past month!

I also have a high beta..........17 dpo it was 2,054 and my second one (19 dpo) won't be back until Monday.

I am scared and thought I was the only one or few that had betas this high............I am mainly scared of a molar pregnancy.

Sometimes I wonder if I might be carrying twins.........you have probably thought the same thing, huh?! LOL!

To both of you, how many did you transfer, and what were you doing (IUIs, IVFs, etc.)? Just curious.

High betas this early have nothing to do with molar, etc. High hcg from molar are produced after placenta takes over around 8 to 9 weeks and causes betas to be in the millions. I, like you, have high betas and worried myself silly. My hcg was over 12,000 at 21dpo and a week later were over 74,000. I am now 13 weeks PG with a very healthy singleton. We had an u/s last week and it was bumping and kicking, lol. My OB said high hcg levels early on are a sign of a strong pregnancy!

apetrus,

Thanks for the encouragement!! You made me feel better and I didn't know that a molar is usually not until 8-9 weeks.

kris7,

I acutually had an appt. with the RE in 1 week, but we got pregnant on our own, naturally. I am almost 31 yo and have irregular cycles, about every 32-39 with a couple of 48 day cycles..........my CBEFM and opk's were showing that I didn't ovulate every month, but when it did this month, I made sure we did everything right!! LOL!

Ladies, just want to say thanks for responding, as I feel bad that I just now came on to join after my beta was high. I had been a lurker, and was going to join after my RE appointment, but obviously that isn't going to happen.

I just pray I have a sticky bean and everything goes well the first 12 weeks!!

Naturally conceived here too.

I'm not really worried that the numbers are high... I was worried that it went from tripling to doubling. I hope that the slow down in the rate is not a bad sign.

I was told they were suppose to double every 2 days until 6 weeks and then it slows down just a little..............has anyone heard different??

I think you are just fine, as long as it is close to doubling, I wouldn't worry!!

Once the HCG hits 1,000 the rate can slow down, then it further slows down after it hits 6,000.
