Super wierd beta, honest advice please

Hello ladies, I would really like advice on what you all think of my betas. Please be honest, I really don't want false hope at this point. We transfered 3 great embies. I've been on 1 cc p4.

9dp3dt + pregnancy test
10dp3dt beta - 136, p4 97.7
12dp3dt beta - 220, p4 96
14dp3dt beta - 265, p4 98.6
**at this point a problem was suspected**
16dp3dt beta - 345, p4 79.5
**RE determined this was not a viable pregnancy and we discontinued all meds**

Yesterday I went in for a follow up beta and p4, just to make sure my levels were dropping (I was 5 weeks and 5 days). My beta was #5,546 and my p4 was 50.6 (which if you take out the level my p4 injection was contributing it is pretty much the same). I just don't know what to think. I was waiting to miscarry and now, do I dare have hope. My IVF nurse said it probably still isn't good news. She said probably the placenta attatched and that is what is still growing. Thankfully she doesn't think it is an ectopic, but I have an u/s tomorrow am to check things out. I also figured out what my beta would be if it doubled every day since my last beta and it would be #5,520.

Please give me your honest opinion/experience. I feel very much in limbo right now. I am angry that this probably still isn't good and it will more than likely take forever to miscarry, and I am trying not to get hopeful. Thanks!

Julie

Did they even consider a vanishing twin? That would make more sense than the things they said. Placenta doesn't effect hcg until 8 weeks. My sister had a vanishing twin also. Her 1st hcg levels were high (like yours) once the twin died the levels evened out (b/c she lost one) then started doubling normally. Also there have been women on here whose lab made errors. I would insist on an u/s. Good Luck!

I also went through something like this:

My betas were..

44

64

112

174

Then I immediately had an ultrasound and nothing in my uterus. Doc saw something on my tube. Then beta came back over 1,000! I too was questioning "asking r u sure there is nothing there". Ectopics once attached can have similar betas to healthy pregnancy. Isn't that cruel!

Until you have a ultrasound you won't have a conclusive answer..

I'm sorry your going through this. No doubt a true heartbreaker!

I still pray your outcome is different. Not over until ultrasound!

DO NOT NOT NOT GIVE UP. Stranger things have happened, did you stop your meds? When is your ultrasound? You can see in my signature that I have gone through beta he!! and ended (so far) with a heartbeat..so never say never!!

Good luck to you

Yes I did stop my meds like over a week ago. My IVF nurse said I didn't need to do my p4 shots again, because if I do miscarry, it won't be because of that. She said my ovaries are providing enough on their own. The only other meds are baby asperin and pre-natal vitamins. My u/s is tomorrow morning at 7:45.
