HELP!!! 2nd beta not so good Dr Says 50%/50%

I just heard back from my RE and my second betas were not so good:

3/14 - 171 (14dpiui)
3/16 - 277 (16dpiui)

This gives me a doubling rate of almost 70hrs. He wants me to come back on Friday for another test and says it is about 50/50 at this point.

Can anyone give me some encouragement? I am new to this board.

This is my third IUI (this time with Gonal F) after two tries of timed intercourse with clomid. I had a m/c 1/02 and had been trying to get pg ever eince. I started seeing my RE in August.

I don't know what he is talking about. It is supposed to double ever 2 to 3 days not every 2 days! Anywhere from 48 to 72 hours is normal and your numbers are actually high for your dpo! I can't believe he said that. What was your progesterone level? It is more indicative of a successful PG that hcg.

I don't think he checked my progesterone. He does have me taking 100 mg of prometerium 3x/day. I will ask him about that on Friday.

I am trying not to think about it too much since there is nothing I can do about it.

Try not to panic. I wouldn't give you false hope if I thought there was no hope. 70 hours is not a bad doubling time. Normal is 48 to 72 hours. Mine doubled in 27 hours so I was freaking out b/c it is not in the "normal" range and I got to see my little baby yesterday. {{{hugs}}}

I am on my way to the dr right now. Maybe I am being paranoid but I don't think I feel as pregnant as I did a few days ago! I will post as soon as I get the results.

Just heard from the Dr., Beta HCG #3 was 670! He still contends I am not out of the woods yet and I will go back on 3/22 for another HCG check and he will do an ultrasound (because I am moving on 3/23 and he is hoping he can send me across the country having seen the sac)
