Those numbers are awesome!! You are more than doubling every 48 to 72 hours! Not sure why your doctor is trippin, lol. Congrats and try to enjoy your PG even if your doctor keeps telling you not too! I have a good feeling about those numbers!!!

The nurse at my OB's office said that my fertility doctor is great at getting women pregnant but has HORRIBLE bedside manners. Sounds the same with your doctor. I don't know if they try to prepare you for the worst case scenario or what but sometimes I'm so discouraged by what my doctor says. For example, he wanted me to have a D&C last Thursday because he couldn't find a heartbeat but suggested getting a 2nd u/s to confirm. That u/s found a heartbeat and also dated the pregnancy a week earlier than he did (he based it on the IUI date when it looks like it was natural). I know it's hard but try to stay optimistic. I'm at 6 weeks now (supposed to be 7weeks based on IUI but we're basing it on ultrasound now) and haven't given up. Seeing that heartbeat was the most amazing thing! I wish my doctor would get me more encouragement but I think they're trying to "prepare" patients for the worst. Your numbers are similar to mine and I'm now at 7800. Don't give up!

Reassurance

I did IVF to and my betas were:
39.1
46
48
500
1000
1400

They were all 48 hrs apart so some of the doubling times were in the hundreds of hours. My Dr. was not optomistic at all and we scheduled D&C's twice. On the 6 week US we saw nothing, a little something on the 7 week and got our heartbeat on week 8. Don't give up, I am convinced numbers mean nothing.
