Beta doubling every 96 hours

Hi,
I'm new here, looks like a great board. After a year and half of trying and one miscarriage, things are looking bad for us again. We have an ultrasound on Thursday.

Has anyone had a successful pregnancy with slow rising betas--as in doubling every 96 hours?

Here are the numbers:
2/28: 70
3/2: 107.5
3/4: 138
3/8: 303

I appreciate your thoughts--
Shannon

I am so sorry that no one has responded to you....I too am having the same problem with beta numbers not rising normally. In the beginning of the pg they were doing just fine. Then they started to drift off and now they are sending up a red flag. I have been informed that this could mean there is something wrong with the fetus. That if something (m/c) is going to happen, it will present itself usually with in the first 9 1/2 weeks. I am 7weeks 3 days and 3 u/s later...baby looks ok...but the numbers say something else....

Please let me know where you are now....I hope all is well with you and your little one.

Thanks for the kind words. No, things didn't go well for us. I miscarried on 3/30, I was 8w3d. Never really saw the fetus on the u/s, at least it was "difficult to discern." They did tell me that the u/s is more conclusive than the betas, so that is good you are seeing the fetus on your u/s. I'm waiting to start trying again. Have you gone to www.misdiagnosedmiscarriage.com? Very supportive group.

Good luck to you, I hope your baby sticks. My thoughts and support are definitely with you. Let me know how it goes.

Shannon,

I am so sorry to hear your news. I am 7wks 5days now and my next u/s is not until the 14th. I honestly don't know what to think. Mind you, yes, I have seen the baby with h/b and all. However, I am still concerned that the heart could stop beating at any min. You are right. U/s are more conclusive than beta's. However, it would be nice to have great beta's along with the u/s. Kind of an insurance policy. So it's a day by day thing for me.

When will you start again? Are you going to FET??? I have two frozen. Out of 3 IVF cycles, this was the first time I ever had anything to freeze. I sometimes wonder if it was a sign that I would have to use them.

I will let you know what happens as the u/s progress.

Dannelle,
I got pregnant with our second IUI. So we are encouraged that we actually got pregnant. We're just going to start trying again. I see no reason to wait, the doctor says to give my uterus a rest and have a cycle first, but I see no reason to dust off the condoms It seems also they want to know when I ovulate and all that but I can let them know that, I'm keeping track of my temp again and it is starting to fall.

We are going to Mexico for our third anniversary in May so I am hoping and doing everything possible to have my body normal by then and I'm hoping to be fertile while we are there. But if not, I'll just enjoy the beach and margaritas. I'll have one for you because hopefully you won't be able to drink still!

If nada after Mexico, back to the IUI chalkboard. Let me know how the u/s goes on the 14th.

Take care,
Shannon

Shannon,

YOU never know what can happen while on vacation. It's amazing how the body actually relaxes. You may come home knocked up

I don't know why they are making you wait??? I went back to back IVF"s when I got pg with my DD...my g/friend who cycled with me this go got a BFN and went straight into a FET cycle...NO break??? Hmmmm....I say drink up...leave the condoms at home and have as much sex as you can possibly stand. That is my prescription to you and DH...

I will let you know how Thursday goes. Congrats on your upcoming anniversary as well.
