low beta

I was wondering if anyone could give any optimistic stories. I am 14 days post iui and had my beta come in today at 18.5. This is very low, so they want me to come back Sunday for another beta. Has anyone heard of a pregnancy resulting from such a low initial beta? I'm so depressed, I really thought this cycle was the one...

Maybe you implanted late? All I know is anything above 5 is considered pregnant. Hang in there.

Another thought - With an IUI you can't be as certain of the exact time of conception. It's possible the sperm hang out for a day or so before they fertalize the egg....So that might be one explanation for the low number. Angela is right - anything over 5 is considered pregnant. This sight helpec me: betabase.info

Wishing you good high numbers with your next test!
