Beta Numbers
Hi all! I'm new here. I just found out Wednesday that I'm pregnant. My beta on Wednesday 14dpo was 106. Today at 16dpo it was 205. I know these are still good numbers, but I'm a little bummed they're not higher. My progesterone was over 40 today, up from 28, and my estrogen was up to 760.
I'm so nervous because the only other time I was pregnant, it ended in a m/c at 4 weeks, and that was 4 years ago. How do you get past the nervousness. I know that if something would happen, there's nothing that I can do about it, but I still worry. I guess I'm just looking for some reassurance from some women with some knowledge. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

your betas look great. As far as how to get thru the next 9 months, all I can say is try to keep yourself as mentally busy as possible the first 12 weeks... and then take it one day at at atime. It is tough. good luck.

HI KELLY!
Kelly! Here you are! I posted on one of the 2ww boards that you were in too. CONGRADULATIONS!!! I just KNEW you would be over here soon! I havent been on FT that often latley.. But maybe I will more often since you and Sarah are here again. (Though, I cant find her either, now that I havent been here..hhhmmm)
As to your question...I think it is completely normal to feel the way you do. EVERYONE does that, m/c or not. But you should feel better knowing that you are in good hands with the docs right now...I mean, they got you this far, didnt they? Also, Most of the reason for m/c I am assuming is due to something "missing" I guess you could say...( if I am making any sense) The last time, it may have had something to do with how you actually conceived. But as we always said...That is a guess. I am not an expert...LOL. Either way, relax!!! Thats the only thing you can do for yourself and your beautiful baby! TTYS, Sala

Sala!!! OMG, it's so good to hear from you! I was wondering about you, where've you been!? So, how are you doing? When are you due?
You are right, that makes sense, about something missing. I'm calming down as each day goes by. My beta on Monday went up to 886, so I feel better about that. I have my first u/s on Wednesday. I can't wait! That day won't come soon enough. I've also been sick, which the nurses said is a good thing. It wasn't too bad, mostly in the evening, but today was miserable. Everytime after I eat, I get sick. My bbs have been sore, and I've been so extremely tired, all I want to do is sleep! This pregnancy is much different than the first one I lost, I had no symptoms. Although the first one I was only about 4-5 weeks. I found out I was pg one day, and found out I was m/c'ing the next. Every night when I'm laying in bed, I pray that this will be it. I've been on the Novembe due date board, but it's early yet, there aren't too many over there yet. I believe Sarah is on the August boards, I don't know if she knows my news yet, I should post over there and say hi. It was great to hear from you, keep in touch!

honestly, to answer your question, i don't think you ever totally get away from the nervousness. i'm 17 wks, and i still am holding my breath when i go to the bathroom each time waiting to see something there that shouldn't be. i am enjoying being pregnant though. we find out what we're having on the 18th of this month, and i'm starting to actually LOOK pregnant! pretty cool! sala, i hope your pregnancy is going well! i'm always on the august boards, so find me soon! take care! sarah

Hi girls! We are extremely excited, but also nervous. I can't wait for the u/s on Wednesday.
I had a bad night last night. We went to dinner with friends, and on the way home I was cramping pretty bad. When I got home I was so sick (diarreah...sorry tmi!) So of course with all the cramping I had, which lasted about a half hour, I was a nervous wreck. I'm hoping the cramping was cause of the stomach problems. I haven't had cramping like that since, and I'm not bleeding or spotting or anything. I do have occasional cramps, which the RE says is normal. I think everything is going to be fine, but I need that u/s so I can see it! Sarah, I'm glad to hear it's normal to be nervous. That's so exciting that you'll be finding out the sex soon. What are you feeling, boy or girl? I'm so excited for you. Sala, are you going to find out? I can't wait til I get to that point. Good luck to you both! ttys!

hey kel
i remember the first few weeks, i was VERY crampy as that little baby burrowed it's way into my uterus. so, it's to be expected. as long as you're not spotting or anything, i'd say it's normal. especially if you were having GI problems, too. when is your ultrasound? when we went for our first u/s at 6 wks, it was still too early to see the HB....we just saw the yolk sac and fetal pole. so we went back at 7wks, and saw it then. it's the most amazing thing. but that was the last u/s we've had! so i'm dying to see what the baby is looking like. my gut says we're having a boy. but, we'll see if i'm right or not on the 18th. i hope the **** kid cooperates!!! take care of yourself, and keep in touch! sarah

Hi Sarah! I'm so glad to hear you had cramps too. My ultrasound is Wednesday. I should be around 6 weeks by then. I'm so confused as to how far along I am. The RE goes by the day you have your hcg, and counts the weeks by then, so by their system on Wed, I'll be 6w1d. I'm hoping we'll see a hb, but I know it still may be early. I get 3 u/s's at the RE and then they release me to my OB. I'm not sure how close together they are, I'll find out Wed.
My girlfriend works at a hospital in the x-ray dept, and her friend is an u/s tech. She told me any time I want an u/s to call her, and I can come out when she's working. She knows how to do them, but can't measure or anything. That will definitely come in handy on those long waits between u/s's. Boy, huh...that's great! Have you checked out what those Chinese Calendar's say you're having? I've checked some and they say girl for me, but I don't know. I'm not feeling anything yet.

Hi Ladies!
How exciting that we are all talking again on the pregnancy boards!
Kelly...I too had cramps the first couple of weeks especially, but I still get them every once and a while. I is VERY common in first pregnancies too. I remember with the girls, I thought that I was miscarrying at some points. But they are both fine! Like Sarah said, as long as you are not bleeding, they can get pretty bad. YUCK! It is called round ligament pain. (your ligaments are "popping" sounds gross, huh? But it just means that your belly is getting bigger! yay! LOL. Sarah, I havent talked to you in a while! I am glad that everything is well. We will be finding out the sex (if this baby cooperates) on St. Patty's Day!! (Is that the 17th or 18th..I cant remember!) But anyway, Anthony said that day is sooo perfect because he either gets to drink to celebrate if we are having a boy, or drink because he has 3 girls! hahaha... He is joking ofcoarse, either way we will be happy, as long as this baby is healthy. (I think its a boy this time, but I dont want to be wrong...then I will feel like an ass! LOL. You will have to let us know how the u/s goes Kelly! My first one was when I was 10 weeks! So I was panicing by that time...but everything was fine. I hope you get to see his/her little heartbeat! Well I better let you go, but I will check back later. Sala |
