Hi There. I was hoping someone could help me with my beta results. It came back 157 16dp3dt. My nurse said anything over 100 was OK. When I began researching beta levels, mine seemed low compared to others. My RE does not do follow up beta levels. I have an U/S scheduled March 7.
Well, I work at a hospital and had the lab drawn another beta 4 days later. It came back 338, meaning it barely doubled in 4 days. I am very concerned. I have also been cramping and had some light brown spotting last night. I am currently 5w5d.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you,
Malarie

I have always heard you should not have subsequent beta's evaluated at a different lab as the results will be skewed.
Can you not call your RE, state you are worried and would like a repeat beta?
Hang in there!

I agree with tanjalalie. Having beta tests done at different labs will most likely come back with different numbers.
Call your RE to ask to come in for at least another two betas 2 days apart to get a better picture of your levels. Also, you should report your 'spotting' to them right away regardless.
Good luck. Keep us updated.

Hi There. Thanks for the responses. I started spotting red blood this afternoon so I called my nurse. I am not having any pain with the spotting. She said she will talk with my RE and call me tomorrow, probably bring me in on Mon.
This IVF journey has been such a roller coaster ride of emotions. This is #1 IVF for DH and I. We did not expect to get a positive result the first time, so we were so exited. We are unsure if we can go through this a second time.
Thanks again for the replies

My RE told me if you are spotting red it equals bed. for 24 hrs. after seeing red. If it is brown you can move around. So, maybe you should rest and let you embies implant and grow. I too had spotting red at 5w5d and went in for U/S and they saw 3 sacs!! Doc said spotting is normal at this time period. Don't get too worked up over it, drink lots of fluids and just rest. Off your feet rest when there is red. That is what I was told. and it worked! I have not spotted since.

ps. I have had cramping all along too, that is fine. It is just your uterus expanding. It is normal. As long as you don't develop severe cramping or a pain in your shoulder and heavy bleeding.
