Sorry to bust in here SHerrie, but, I had a m/c a little over a year ago. I did cramp worse and bleed more heavily. My OB said that was normal and he gave me vicodin to help with my pain.
I hope this helps some in such a sad time. Hugs, Heather

Well, as it has been said...at least you know you can get pg. It is very scary after a loss. Here we are at IVF #4 and finally pregnant again. Just be strong. It will happen.
Hugs, Heather

Sherrie-
I wish I could help you here. I've been lucky enough to have partial coverage through my comapany's insurance and my dh's insurance (which I have as secondary insurance). I hope someone else can offer some info. that will help you!!!! Jen

I too have IVF coverage through insurance. That is the only way we have been blessed to do this. WE could have done one round, but not 4. It is way too expensive I think, and sometimes think it is a racket. I mean, I got my insurance statement today. My RE charges ME $1,500 for egg retrieval. The "negotiated" amount to the insurance was $850. I also got a bill for frozen transfer. My RE charges ME $1,000. The insurance only has to pay $650. You would think they would extend the breaks to those without insurance, and not to teh insurance companies. I have Aetna PPO.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you all so much for your wonderful messages of support and advice. I can not begin to express how much it means to me. I was really surprised at how upset the droping beta levels upset me yesterday, but I am doing much better today and feel ready to look toward the future. I did take my progesterone this morning just in case, and will take it again tomorrow. I guess if my levels keep falling after my test tomorrowI will have an easier time believing that I ma not pregnant. I wish I could respond to all of you, but I am way out the door, so I have to keep it short. I did want to respond to SherrieandRober about paying for IVF. Have you looked into maybe working fr a company that offers insurance with IVF coverage? I have heard that Walgreens offers coverage to employees. I am not sure what the waiting period is, if it is necessary to work full time, or any of the specifics really. Just a thought. We are fortunate to have insurance coverage, although the amount is limited annually and over the lifetime of my policy. We live in MA and are thinking about getting supplemental insurance to cover IVF, since it is mandated in the state. My DH's company is self insured and so fell into a loop hope, but another company wouldhave to cover any necessary infertility treatment without waiting periods or coverage limitations. I feel very fortunate to live ina state with such progressive insurance mandates. I hope it works out for you! Wendy |
