Rachel, Marcia and MissyMarie

Rachel!!!!
I am so happy to hear from you. I really missed speaking to you guys. I'm glad your HPT was positive. ( I'll keep praying for you!) That sounds like really good news. Let me know as soon as you learn what your results are.

Mine HPT the line was pretty light in the days before my BETA and my beta was 290. I will have my second beta on Wed. I am SOOO nervous. My doctor said not to worry about the cramps but of course - easier said than done. I'm almost even more nervous about the 2nd Beta than I was about the 1st beta.

I posted my email address on the IVF connections board so we can start to email each other as well. I hope Marcia is doing OK - I have not heard from her. I was able to log on Friday for a second and read your post and then the sight went down again. You are correct I think in the time for your beta. Let me know how tomorrow morning goes!!!

Hopefully Marcia will see this post...but she is not really in Beta so she might not see it since she was the first of all three of us to have her test. Miss you both. Write more soon!

Marie

Do you think Marcia would find this site? I am going to try IVF connections again tommorow. Hopefully it will be running again.

This is so weird. I have never had a positive hpt in my life. I am feeling the occcasional af like cramps too. My boobs have been so sore. I forgot to mention to you two that on 9 days post retrieval, I felt something in my lower pelvis that made me say Ohh, ah, oh out loud. I have been feeling that twinge/cramp in the same spot once in a while. I have been generally feeling twinges and af cramps all over and they come and go. Today, I am starting to feel heavier and a bit bloated in the pelvis. Do you notice you can't sit leaning forward like something is there?

My Dh is still in shock. Understandable. I felt shock with my first test Saturday night.

Well I guess things are still really early. We must continue to stay positive though.

Gotta run to dinner with DH...but I am relieved that the cramps like PMS are not so uncommon. And I am so happy for your positive HPT. Glad you used different brands. It was also my first pos HPT. Will write more later. So glad to have found you. Hope we find Marcia soon.

By the way, your first beta of 290 is excellent.
I can't wait to find out my number tommorow.
Have a good time tonight celebrating!

Rachel - I'm thinking about you. Hope all goes well and looking forward to hearing your results later on today. If IVF Connections goes back up we can post there so Marcia can find us...but I will check both places for your "update." I remember how scared I was. Good Luck.

Hi Marie

I got my beta back. It is 104.7. I am 15dpO or retrieval. I read elsewhere on these boards that my number is low to average. I am going to re-check it from a Canadian source. I forgot to ask my nurse if its in iu/ml or another measurement.

I shouldn't stress so much over this though right?
My next beta will be Thursday morning. Lets pray that it doubles.

Right now dh and I are praying and thanking God for giving us this baby. It truly is Gods miracle and all creation is in his hands.

Have you told any family yet? We already told my mom, his parents, one of my sisters, and one of his brothers. We still have more brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, and grandparents to tell. I feel strange telling too many people right now. We will probably wait until at least the first ultrasound. I know some people wait three months or more. We can't do that since a lot of our close family know about the IVF.

How many more betas do you need? My nurse told me I only need to go in for one more as long as it is doubling. I prefer the way your clinic does it. Taking betas a week apart. I am always going to wonder how things are a week or two from now.
I guess if I am having ravishing morning sickness or fatigue symptoms then I will know that everything is okay.

Take care

Rachel

Rachel that is wonderful news! I am so happy for you. You and DH need to celebrate with a nice dinner tonight. We did not really tell any family memebers yet - we are waiting for beta #2. I prefer the way your clinic does it because I have to wait an entire week to know if my beta is OK. We will tell our parents after tomorrows test assuming all is well. Then the following week is the ultrasound. I pray that we get to hear a heartbeat! That would be amazing.

I checked betabase.info and your number seems perfectly normal - smack dab in the middle of numbers. So that is wonderful. I don't think its the # so much as that it continues to increase.

Go have a romantic night and let me know tomorrow how it goes. Sure hope Marcia is having good news as well. I will let you know what I hear tomorrow with my 2nd beta.

Rachel - and (hopefully) Marcia -
Hello. I had my second beta today and my #s were high. (21 days past ER) my beta was 5593. Twins? I don't know and my Doctor's office says it's too early to tell anything. My ultrasound will be next thursday. Rachel, how are you feeling? The wait for me between the two beta tests was sooooo hard. Worse than the initial wait for the first beta. Hang in there - just a few more hours left. Talk to you later.

That sounds like it could be twins to me. Your ultrasound is so soon? You are exactly 5 weeks now right? I thought they would wait until 7 weeks. I guess its good that they are checking a bit earlier though so that they can tell you if there is more than one. I think things are looking real good for you.

I am feeling a little bit more crampier this evening than usual. I can't help but worry. Even though I have read that cramping is normal and good. I can't wait to find out my beta tommorow. At least if it doubles it will ease my mind.

Well - I was super PMS crampy constantly so I know how you feel scared. I felt the same way. It helps to know it is perfectly normal to feel that way. I was reassured by the 2nd beta today. My Dr spaces the betas out because sometimes when they are only 48 hours apart you may not have them double....so he does the tests a week apart to try to prevent false panic. It was very hard to wait a week. I prefer how you do it although I understand my Doctors reasoning.

Actually - I THINK that I am at 6 weeks now. I had my first beta at 14 days past ovulation so that is at "one month" exactly. Then this past week was week #5 and week #6 starts today. So you are in week #5 if my calculations are correct...and next week will be week #6 for you and week #7 for mme. Just hang in there and take it one day at a time. That's what I'm doing. Let me know when you get your #s. I will be out of town this weekend but I will try to find a computer so I can check in with you. I leave Thursday morning and return Sunday afternoon. I will do my best to check tomorrow PM so I can see how your day is going!
:-)
