Sherrie,

I'm questioning all the same things you are. I can tell you that when I was pg in Sept. with twins, I didn't feel anything until I was at 6 weeks. I kept saying I was so worried, then morning sickness hit me like a ton of bricks!! I did ultimately m/c both of them, but that was due to a blood clotting disorder that I didn't know I had at that time.

I'm not sure what I feel myself at the moment. I've been taking 2 hpts a day to make sure that the line keeps getting darker! I've heard many stories of girls w/low betas who had happy, healthy babies!!!

I'm wishing you all the best! At least your RE said 50/50. Mine isn't sure what to think at the moment!!!

Hang in there and please let me know the results of your next beta!!! My next beta is on Sunday along with u/s. I guess I"ll know my fate by then!!!

Good luck to you!!!
Jen

I appreciate all of your advice. I am glad I had a chance to talk with you. I will definetly let you you know. And my thoughts and prayers are with you. If it wasnt for people like you I would be going crazy right now. But one question I do have is if this is the end how do you pick up and go back in the game?

Sherrie,

I'm so thankful to you and everyone on these boards. All of you have truly kept me going! I just found FT in Dec./Jan. I can't believe I survived my m/c without it!!!

As for going forward, it's the hardest thing to do. After my double m/c I thought I'd just crumble, but 5 months later here I am fighting to keep another baby! I know I won't handle this well if things go South, somehow we have to keep the faith and know that we will ultimately reach our goal!! I wish I had more words of wisdom! I'm praying neither of us has to worrying about that option and that everything will be great!!!!!

I'll be looking for your post tomorrow!!! Take it easy, Sherrie!
Wishing for doubling betas!!!!!
Jen

Sherrie,

I can only say that I know that getting a positive hpt at least helps me feel like my hcg level didn't plummet down to nothing!!!! I feel I'm "pregnant until proven otherwise!!!"

As for the welt, I used to get those from Repronex injections. I would imagine that you're fine, but call your RE's office to check if you're worried. As far as I'm concerned, we pay all that money, so we should be able to call when we're worried!! Right?

Good luck tomorrow!! I'll be thinking of you!
Jen

*barging in*

Hi there Sherrie, another victim of a WAAAAAYYYYY early beta It REALLY makes me wonder why RE's do that to you and put you through all those nervewracking days.

In any event, I just wanted to say that what always worked for me with the PIO's was to warm the spot with a heating pad as well as heating the vial of oil in a cup of warm water for a few minutes. That way the oil would go in quick amd smooth. A brief massage on the spot by DH directly after helped the oil spread and absorp quickly so I never had any welts or bumps.

However I know that some women are allergic to some of the oils the progesterone comes in, most notably peanut oil. If the welts persist, even when warming up the spot and massaging, let your Dr. know, you may need a different PIO prescription.

Hang in there. Time will pass, and I hope your beta's will keep rising steadily!

Another note: did you do a FET? It is a documented fact that FET beta's rise much more slowly than those of natural pregnancies or IUI or fresh IVF cycles.

Thanks for barging in, Tanja. You're absolutely right about those early betas!! As for betas rising slower after FET, I've heard that but didn't know if it was definitely accurate. Where is it documented??? I'd love to read about it!

Thanks!!
Jen

Sherrie -

You're not annoying at all!!!

I'll admit that I'm still taking hpts... I took one as soon as I got home from work tonight. I've been testing since around 5dpt and have had all positives and must've taken 20 hpts by now, FRED (First Response) and Clearblue Easy Digitals.

I have been told that it's very possible to get a false negative on an hpt, so don't lose hope. Also, since you're getting your next beta tomorrow, maybe give yourself a break and stop taking them!! Hopefully you'll get a nice high number and you'll be able to rest a little easier. I know all of this is easier said than done.... and I'm not even taking my own advice, but after my beta and ultrasound on Sunday, I hope that my results are good enough where I can stop taking them as well!

Best of luck tomorrow!! My thoughts are with you!!!

Jen
