I spoke w/ my RE's office and I am going in at 9am tomorrow morning for my 5th HCG test and to actually speak with a doctor. I have only spoken w/ nurses and the nurse at my IVF clinic has a different opinion than the nurse at my RE's office...so we don't know which end is up anymore. Hopefully the doctor will be able to tell me when we can do an u/s - I am 5 weeks and 4 days, so may late this week. Thank you for your kind words and sharing your experiences with me - it helps to know I am not going through this alone. Please say a prayer for me and my bean.

I really don't think that nurse should have panicked you like that! I too got a phone call at work telling me it was prob. an ectopic and to come in for a u/s. Just for your own peace of mind, if it is ectopic you will not lose a tube this early. You would prob. be given the drug methotrexate instead--totally non-invasive. It's what they were preparing for me the day we saw the sac.

Again, good luck, and I will be thinking of you.

I saw the doctor this morning and he wasn't hopeful of my HCG levels. My #s did increase today to 1937 from 1147. They did an ultrasound and saw a yolk sac in my uterus that was measuring the correct size!! So, ectopic has been ruled out and now I just pray this little bean continues to grow. I go back in a week for another ultrasound. The dr. doesn't seem hopeful b/c of my HCG levels but I am not giving up hope yet!!!

Great news! The last beta number and the fact that the sac measures normal seem very promising. I'll keep praying for your little bean.

I thinkthat is great news! Maybe your body just does strange HCG things!!! Just because it's not normal for the masses, does not mean it's not okay! I am happy for you! I will continue to pray for you and your bean!

That's wonderful! Keep us posted--I hope we see that by next week you can leave "beta hell" and see a perfect little heartbeat!

Take care!
