First HCG is High
I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant!! YEAH!!
(My husband and I have been trying for 17 months. I have had 3 miscarriages in those 17 months.) I was on injectibles (Follistim) while having intercourse and one day of insemination. At the point of ovulation, I had one egg on my left side and one egg on my righ side. I had my first Beta HCG yesterday. My HCG levels were 840.9 and my progesterone was 60!! I was told by my doctor these numbers look really good. I have never had such high numbers so early. Could these numbers indicate multiples? Is it too early for them to indicate Downs? Could they indicate a molar pregnancy? I am probably being paranoid since I am used to negative thigns happening to me when it comes to pregnancy. Anyone out there have something similar happen and everything turned out fine? Or does anyone have any thoughts, ideas, etc? Thanks. Sarah

That's definitely a very high beta for 14dpo...I would guess there's a chance for multiples. As for the progesterone, I'm not sure if it indicates anything...my progesterone in early pregnancy was in the 90s, but I'm pregnant with a singleton.
Wishing you all the best! And congratulations! Carrie |

Congratulations to you too! Thank you for your information and thoughts. I agree with you that I don't think Progesterone means anything as far as singleton or multiples. It does, however, relate to your lining and the support of the pregnancy. So I do know it's a very good thing when it is high. Wishing you the best too. Thanks again. Sarah |

I just got my second round of bloodowrk resutls. My HCG levels went from 840.9 to 2,067.9. The nurse said this is a 146% jump. She said the numbers look beautiful!! My progesterone did drop a bit - from 60 to 53. She is not at all concerned about this. She said it is common for progesterone to fluctuate. Does anyone know if this is true or has it happened to anyone out there?
I am very happy but still pretty cautious. Hope everyone is doing well. Sarah |
