Anyone else on bed rest right now? I'm 29 weeks today and on hospital bed rest for preterm labor and mild pre-e (double whammy!)... I've been here for five days with no end in sight- I'll be here until my girl is born.

BC-Ktaylor08 : Hi!!! I meant to tell you on the other thread that there weren't any currently active threads over here, so I am glad you started one
There is a sweet dad who has a thread here for support with his wife, but hopefully there will be other ppl looking for bed rest support. So they kept you in the hospital? I know it's definitely not the most comfortable setting, but I would feel so reassured with nurses right outside my door
right now I am still on bed rest but so far no hospitalization--I have been a wreck all weekend though with contractions which started Friday night and went ALL DAY yesterday...I feel like my doc's office is going to think I am a neurotic if I call for every little pain, so I told myself if it wasn't better by this morning I was calling. Today seems to have been quiet with no cramping or contracting. Did you rupture any of your membranes? I am thinking you had just funneled and were at basically no cervix left? I have another appt on Wed and then another u/s cervical check the Monday after that. I wish I was farther along like you are, although I am sure you want to go as close to 37 weeks as humanly possible! I am here anytime
so feel free to PM if you just need to vent...
Take care,
Stephanie

Hey Stephanie!
Yes, I'm still in the hospital and will be staying for the long haul. So I'm hunkering down for that... I'm already sooooooo homesick and all I want is to go home and snuggle with my puppy and my husband in bed! I miss my puppy so much
I am comforted by the fact that I'm here and being very well monitored- I would probably be a wreck at home and worried about everything. I say bug the crap out of your doctor's office if you're having contractions! Every time I have them while I'm being monitored, they have me chug a TON of water and lie on my left side, which usually works.
Remind me how far along you are? I hope your appt goes well... Gosh, what crazy and awful situations we're in!!!!Me- 25 dx: 2009 Endo 2011 PCOS

Thanks Kim! I'm adjusting to the idea and routine so the days are getting easier, but I had a setback with my employer. They aren't being very understanding or helpful in my time of need... My supervisor and program director are being wonderful, but HR (go figure!) isn't. Oh well... One day and one hurdle at a time!

Yikes. All of the paperwork can really be a hassle. What did they expect you to know exactly when you would be going out of work and have the paperwork submitted in advance? That's crazy. (I hope that isn't really the case). I left work on short notice and thankfully everything was fine. It is a headache, but you will get through it.
PS- Dr. Oz became my BFF while on bed rest lol

Ktaylor08: Just thinking about you and hoping everything is going as well as can be expected! I actually had a little incident this past Monday where I thought my water had broken--they got me in and I was contracting so I was put on Inducin I think it was called. The peri said the next day that I had a "partial rupture" which had re-sealed. I didn't even know that was possible! They said my fluid was on the lower side, but that with lots of fluid intake and continued bed rest, they weren't panicked (at least one of us wasn't!
) The weird thing was that my cervix hadn't dilated... Are you finding this whole situation is making you depressed? I am really starting to lose my mind with all of this... Anyhow, I hope you are hanging in there!
Take care...
Steph

I'm so glad you're ok- I was about to post again to see if all was well with you. I've never heard of a partial rupture either, but holy cow you're so lucky! That could have been bad. How far along are you?
Yes, this is very depressing. And stressful- I can't work so I'm taking a 40% pay cut for disability. I have AFLAC but can only get that money after I'm out of the hospital, so in the mean time it's going to be difficult to make ends meet. DH has to keep working so I only see him a few days a week... He used to work 24 hour shifts so at least I'm a little used to being away from him, just not for days on end. I just want to go home!!! I haven't seen my dog in a week and a half and it breaks my heart to not see her. I miss her and just want to cuddle and give her kisses!
*sigh*

Hey Penny,
I'm doing alright so far... Working on my third week in this place. It could be worse, so I'm thankful that it's not. This morning was rough, though- my contrax picked up to every 5-6min and there was blood in my urine. I'm dilated to "a fingertip to 1cm" and they've given me a lot of terbutaline shots, to the point where they don't want to give me many more. So on to l&d and mag if they pick up again. I'm having a last "rescue" shot of steroids for baby's lungs tomorrow in case I deliver soon, which it was hinted that I may deliver in the next week. That's so scary! I'm not ready! So this uterus of mine had better behave itself!!!!Me- 25 dx: 2009 Endo 2011 PCOS
