Not quite sure how this site works yet so forgive me if I am doing something silly...
Thought I'd introduce myself: am 37-yr-old from Europe (yep, had to come this far to find a decent bedrest support site...) pregnant with my 3rd child. In my first pg I had to be on bedrest for 1 mth due to PTL, and in the second for 4 mths (including a three week hospitalisation) due to secondary hypertension (it turned out I have renal artery stenosis, now corrected with a stent) and PTL. Dd was in the end born at 39 weeks and ds at 37 weeks, both healthy against the odds (renal artery stenosis during pregnancy normally has very bad prognosis for the baby). Now am at week 12 of third pg and my external os is already open to fingertip and the cervix is shortened (how much I don't know, my peri wants to do an US this Monday) - in other words, I can add IC to my diagnoses; am on my day 4 of bedrest and looking at probably about 6 mths more of the same. My peri wants to do a preventive cerclage next week.
Would love to hear if there is anyone else in the same or similar situation. Especially would love to learn more about experiences with a cerclage since this will be my first one.
