Hi everyone - just a question perhaps you can give me your ideas on: i am currently on 10dpt of a 3 day eggie. We put 2 back in. on 10dpt I tested with a 'sensitive' test which detects hcg levels of 10mIU/mL. I got a very faint pink line. Can i be positive about this? Did I test too early? Could the faint pink line be the result of the hcg shot? on the other hand, if i am indeed pg shouldn't my hcg levels be much higher that 10 mIU by now and hence I should have gotten a strong pink line rather that a faint one?
Also today I was feeling AF pains and little back pains so I was sure that AF is on its way
But after a while they stopped.
I don't know. This test was a bad idea afterall. It just confused me. Any ideas?

I'd say... CONGRATULATIONS!
The color of the line isn't the point. It's whether there is one or not. It took weeks for my HPTs to get dark.
Still, there's the slight chance of a false positive.
So I would go to Dollar Tree or the drugstore and get another brand of test to try and see what it says.

hi stillhope...generally the darkness of the line is irrelevant as long as the test doesn't have an evaporation line and was read within the time alotted per the directions.
as for the residual hcg from your trigger, the rule of thumb is that the body discards approx 1000 units per day. so if you've taken 10,000 units then you should not test any earlier than 10 days post trigger.
do not read into the AF cramps. i experienced all AF symptoms with 3 pgs and was CERTAIN AF was coming.
what i would probably do is wait a couple of more days and test again. this is assuming you've had enough time to release the trigger.
wishing you good luck! please let us know what happens when you retest!!Dina

well I 'm back just like I promised i would.
Today i did my first beta test and it is positive at 138. My dr said the number is good. He did not request to take another one just to check if it is increasing. Shouldn't I test?
Anyway, my dr asked to go back for my first u/s in 15 days. I know it is still too early and i shouldn't take anything for granted but i am 'celebrating' one step at a time.
thank you for your info girls....

Congratulations! Hooray! That is a great starting number
. Some doctors don't track the HcG rise and some do; if it would make you feel better to make sure it's rising appropriately, then ask your doctor if you can repeat the beta in 48 hours. It's all a matter of how you feel!
GOOD LUCK at your u/s and let us know how things are going!
Best

YAY!!!!!
I knew it would be +.
138 is a very great first beta. If it was me, I would request a 2nd beta 48 hours later just for my own peace of mind.
