New here and seeing a weird chart

Hi Everyone,

I don't post here much, but need some advice...I suffered my 3rd m/c after my 4rth IVF in early Sept. I did have a somewhat regular cycle afterwards, but this months is very weird...I'm using an OPK and CBE Monitor and just don't know what to make of my chart...telps are erratic and I got a pos OPK on Friday, but no thermal shift and the CBE is still saying high fertility. I'm worried I have a cyst maybe. To make matters more difficult, I am no longer seeing an RE as I turned 40 in Oct and my insurance will not cover anything after age 40, so we are TTC naturally until we have the money for an FET. here is a link to my chart...any input would be appreciated...

1f2b94 Ovulation Charts

Thanks,

JoAnn

Hi JoAnn: I'm so sorry about your m/cs. {{{HUGS}}} I know you are not seeing an RE anymore, but did you get a diagnosis when you were? Were you ever given a reason, suspected or confirmed, for your losses?

I took a look at your chart and I don't see O yet. But it doesn't mean you won't O. You might have had a false LH surge on Friday. Many women find they ovulate around cd 20 or so. I would keep BMSing for now and keep temping and see what happens.

Are you seeing any fertile-quality cm? If you do, BMS that day for sure! Otherwise, I would BMS at least every other day (if not every day) for the next few days and see if you observe a thermal shift.

Good luck and please check back in and let us know how you're doing!

Maura
p.s. I took a look at your Sept/Oct chart and it looks like you did O on cd 21, so you might find you tend to O around this time. Don't give up hope!

Thanks Maura,

I'm diagnosed as unexplained infertility and my m/c's have all been unexplained too. My first m/c of identical twin boys was found to be chromosomally normal after the d&c too, so I have no real answers for anything. I am hypothyroid, and did have mildly elevated prolactin, but those have been treated with meds and are normal now, so they shouldn't be a factor. Age is probably the cause of my infertility but my ovarian reserve is very good according to my RE, so if I could keep doing IVFs something eventually would probably stick. It totally sucks that we can't afford it anymore without insurance

As for my cycle, I actually got a peak reading on the CBE this morning and noticed a lot more EWCM too last night, so maybe it's going to happen. I ran out of OPKs though to double check, but it is weird that I got that pos. OPK last week and then no O, I wish I knew what caused that. BTW, last cycle was a m/c cycle, so it wasn't unexpected to O so late...I normally O no later then CD16 so this month is weird. We plan on BDing tonight and the next few days til the CM dries up and see what happens, although I'm not getting my hopes up.

Thanks for the support...it really helps. I will definately let you know what happens.

JoAnn

Hi again,

It's so frustrating not to have answers. My RPL was unexplained for 2 years until finally the RE I consulted saw something my OB had not: that I had a uterine septum (the outside of my uterus appeared normal, but the inside was mildly heart-shaped, and my RE thought that the septum was possibly causing the m/cs because of the poor blood supply it offered to pgs trying to implant and grow.). Whether the septum was or wasn't the cause I'll never know for sure, but after it was removed, I went on to have 2 healthy babies!

I'm sorry that your insurance won't pay for anything now that you are 40, but did you ever see an RE who specializes in RPL? I would hate to see you spend more money on a FET (or more IVF) if the cause of your m/cs is still unexplained.

No easy answers.

False ++ OPK are actually not that uncommon. I'm glad you are seeing your peak now, esp. if accompanied by ewcm. Good luck and I hope you see a temp rise soon!

Keep us posted++++++++++++

Hi,

Well, I'm glad to hear you were able to eventually have success :-) I've seen 4 REs over the past 2 years for 2nd opinions, even went to SIRM in NYC and Yale in New Haven and none of them had any real answers. I've had an SHG and hysteroscopy too so they know my uterus is normal.

So what causes false OPKs? I've never had that happen before, is it the test itself that's at fault or fluctuating hormones? I was suspecting a cyst b/c I know they are common after a m/c and I had one before when using Follistim for an IUI a few years ago. I'm definately seeing more EWCM today, so hopefully it means ovualtion will happen soon.

I definately plan on keeping you all posted. I was quite active on a yahoo group (that I actually co-own) but almost all the members there have gotten their BFPs and noone is really left who's TTC so it's a bit depressing and I need a more active place. I think I've found it :-) Hopefully I'll be able to joing the successful ppl sometime soon...

Thanks again,

JoAnn

Thanks Maura and Kat! Yeah I was happy when I saw that dramatic temp shift the other day, but my temp was a lot lower this morning, so I'm a little less optimistic. I'm really trying to stay grounded here, my chances of success are v. slim so I don't want to set myself us for bitter disppointment and getting pregnant is only halfthe battle for me sadly. Thanks so much for keeping track of me (pardon the pun! LOL). Only a few more days to go hopefully!
