the waiting is KILLING me
Not sure this topic exactly fits here but anyways..
this morning has been completely stressful...DH knew today was his "big day" to provide an SA. I work right next to the lab where it needed to be delivered so between just the usual stress of having to perform on demand, along with the whole timing factor of collecting & getting it to the lab AND me volunteering to lug in some gifts for our boss here at work (happy boss' day to all you boss') it was quite the morning. The volume of the specimen I was worried about, DH said "Tell them they need bigger cups" I guess the "target" was a bit of a challenge, to make sure the most of it got in there hee hee....I just talked to the lab lady, she said volume was sufficient, now I am sitting here going completely Nuts-O waiting to hear results. Doc said she'd call which may be later today. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I hated hated hated hated waiting for test results! Drove me crazy! Especially when they had them and wouldn't give them to you until x, y or z signed off on them ... or they said the person was at lunch but would call back... so you waited ... and then when you called back because you couldn't wait anymore, the person had left for the day ... and it was a Friday ... so now you had to wait until Monday....
So, did they call you?!?!?!? You have all my sympathy!! Good luck with it and let us know when you find out++++++++ Maura |

oh i feel for you! the waiting is the WORST!!
we were lucking in that the lab told us they needed to have dh's specimen within an hour of him "producing" it. they were 20 minutes from the house so he was able to deal with it at home and then just drive it over. takes a lot of the pressure off that way. hope you get your results soon!! keep us posted!

Well I hope to have results tomorrow when I go back to work. I ended up emailing my doc & she said she'd call when she had them. (although the lab gal said she had them a few hrs. after I handed it to her!!!!!) THANK goodness we were able to "produce" it at home & then I delivered it to the lab which is right next door to my work. Still though ~ I think just the pressure of -this has to be done right now, on this day- is just not cool. Any other day for the most part if us ladies could just keep a cup hidden in our bra or something & whip it out when it was collection time, I'm sure the DH's would have no problems
![]() DH did make a comment last night, that made me think he is ready to know if there is a problem too. He is so laid back about this whole process...at times it can be frustrating because I am ready, so, so, ready right now. If for some reason this whole thing is going to be delayed or an issue I guess we are going to plan more big trips, visiting Germany is next on our list although I still would much rather have a little bean in the meantime

Well not great news about DH's SA....doc is suppose to send me the exact numbers today but on the phone late afternoon yesterday stated the morphology was slightly abnormal. Not sure what the "slightly" exactly means. But she did discuss my situation with an RE, he then recommended we do IUI & come chat with him. I am really anti-RE, I know that sounds bad, but just want all this to happen on its own. Doesnt help DH has these false assumptions about docs & they are just going to tell you to do things that cost a lot of $$ so they make it. I know his whole take on everything is much different than mine, whatever happens, happens for a reason he says. Where me, I want this so bad & will keep forging ahead but cant do that alone. That's a whole other discussion though...in the meantime, do you think its worth it to try & first repeat another SA in a month or two ???? Then based on that, maybe we can at least go talk to an RE & see what he has to say. In the meantime, my doc said I should go ahead & take 2 more rounds of Clomid 50mg with a &DPO progesterone level check ...thoughts ?????????

Hi there: I think you can't make any decisions about what to do next until you have the exact numbers. If everything else is fine and the morphology is only slightly abnormal, you might be fine. As an aside, though, not sure why doing an IUI would be helpful if morphology is the only issue? I mean, you are still working with the same sperm pool in that case, right?
I personally think that you should consider taking progesterone after you confirm your O AND do a 7 dpo progesterone test. Since low progesterone has been an issue for you in the past, I'm not sure that Clomid alone is sufficient and I would really press your doctor on this point. Taking progesterone after O can't hurt and it could really help! Good luck and let us know when you get those SA numbers++++++++++ Maura |
