jump temp jump !!

Geesh, I thought for sure my temp would jump today but nope...still waiting for the little bugger to rise ! I got my +OPK on Monday. With this being my first round of Clomid I kind of expected to have unusal things happen this time. I'm remaining patient and trying to BD as much as possible but ready for a break

Hi there: Don't give up! You might be ovulating today. Keep BMSing until you see that rise and I'm putting my money on tomorrow.

Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++

Well instead of the temp jumping like I pretty much was counting on happening, it TOTALLY dipped ??? What the heck ??? Its now CD18 & this has never happened before. I looked just to make sure I was seeing it correctly, 96.64 and then sat up right in bed retook it and got 96.80. Hmmmm I dont know that I can depend on this darn thermometer for much help this time around ???

Bummer! I'm wondering if the ++OPK on Monday was a false positive. Are you using the digital Monitor or regular OPKs? Was the ++ a definite ++?

In any event, keep BMSing for sure! Many women on Clomid don't ovulate until cd 20 or later, so it could be that you will be ovulating over the next few days.

Good luck and fingers crossed for a temp rise soon!

+++++++++++++

I am thinking that your estrogen made the OPK look positive... that can happen when you take clomid... on my CBFM, they say that if you never reach a peak, it may have been masked by the estrogen... I bet if you were to test again, well, yesterday anyways, you would have still had a strong positive.

Nice dip.. so I am thinking O is today just based on the huge dip.. and you rise should be tomorrow. Fingers crossed!! If I am wrong.. then you are super close!!

I just HAD to take BD break last night, geesh! Will try to be back at it again tonight for sure plus DH is going to be gone tomorrow thru Saturday afternoon. I hope from previous days of BD'ing that may help ?? even if I dont O until sometime today. Here's hoping for that temp rising soon ( & not a faulty thermometer to blame)

He & his college buddy who came to visit are leaving tomorrow morning to go hang out in New Orleans. I MUST make BD happen tonight, no question about it The trick is going to be making sure the 2 of them dont stay up too much past my bedtime or I will miss the opportunity! So you think I've got some swimmers ready from BD on Tues. night if O decided to happen any minute here...gosh I HOPE SO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is one that I found that my work allowed me to open..

Quote:
The maximum is usually five days, and only if you have optimal cervical mucus, which is eggwhite or watery. Sperm last longer in that fluid, which peaks shortly before ovulation. If you have recently menstruated, or are due to again soon, sperm probably won't last more than a day or two, if they make it past the hostile cervial fluid you have the rest of the month.

Here is more input and advice:

It is a fact that sperm can live up to 4-5 days in your body, contrary to anything else you may have heard or read. In addition to this fact, the egg released can live between 12-24 hours. Therefore, your fertile period starts approximately 4-5 days PRIOR to ovulation and ends 12-24 hours after ovulation. If you do the math, it is possible for some woman to be fertile for as many as 7 days. You may have heard you can only get pregnant one or two days a month...SO NOT TRUE!!! You may only ovulate that long, but with the life of sperm and the life of the egg, your fertile time can be much longer. Another bit of info that many woman don't know is that female sperm are slower but stronger and therefore live longer than male sperm which are faster, but weaker. In other words, male sperm will usually beat out female sperm in the race for the egg, yet female sperm will usually out live male sperm. So, if you are trying for a girl, have sex the 5th, 4th, and 3rd day before ovulation and then abstain.
It is not true that there is a difference between the live/speed of sperm depending on whether it's male or female. ALL sperm are the same basic genetic make-up. The differences lie in what genetic material is carried in the head of the sperm.

From what I just read, approximately 3-7 days, depending on the acidity of the vagina.

Depends on when she is ovulating. If there is a lot of mucus (usually a lot more when she IS ovulating), it can last up to 5 days. If not, usually about a day or two.
