New to the forum

Hi everyone i am new to the forum as you can see in my sig box i am a recurrent miscarraige patient of 15 losses. I am starting new medication which is steriods when i next get my bfp. Hoping his works finger crossed and i am able to carry full term. I will be turning into a opk and hpt addict again this month lol i am also using using preseed i had three bfps using preseed this year. I use it because i dont have much ewcm and i find it helps my husbands sperm swim better and helps me get that long awaited bfp. So back to the opks and pressed this month Good luck everyone ttc heres hoping and praying we get lots of september bfps

Hi Sparklequeen and welcome!

I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. What was your diagnosis? A clotting issue? In any event, I hope your new protocol will turn things around for you.

Look forward to getting to know you!

Best of luck+++++++++++

Thanks for welcoming me to the forum to be honest i dont know what my diagnosis is and my doctors are now scratching there heads. I was diagnosed with activated protein c deficancy and possible aps it comes and goes in my blood tests. One minute i have it one minute i dont, so they are convinced i have a auto immune disorder so i am given asprin and fragmin injections which has not worked with the last 8 pregnancys they even up the dose which was still unsuccessfull. I have had 2 recent blood test which was positive for a clotting disorder. They have now said that i do have a consistently abnormal thromboelastogram parameters both in the maximum clot amplitude and disordered fibrin analysis in the non pregnant state.

I took the asprin along with the fragmin and now they are going to try me with steriods. Because the clotting meds has not worked they are saying its unexplained and dont know what to do next except try the steriods. Does any one know what disordered fibrin analysis is ? i know its a clotting disorder but want to know more about it. I am praying i get to carry full term with the help of steriods i am wishfull thinking though i know i am but have to keep a pms state of mind. X

Hi Ferret mommy thanks for welcoming me to the forum X

Hi again: I'm sorry that I don't know much about clotting issues. Do you know whether your issue is that you clot too much or don't clot enough? I know both can be problematic for pregnancy.

Anyway, here is an article I found on clotting disorders and recurrent pg loss.

http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/210857-overview

Are your doctors specialists in RPL? If not, I highly recommend finding someone who is! It made all the difference to me when I made the switch from my OB to an RE with that specialty.

I'll keep looking to see if I find anything else+++++++++

The only thing that I can say is pretty much the same as Maura.. and make sure you have an RE that has the specialty in you condition OR has access to another RE that he can or be willing to talk to if they are too far away.

Its all so unfair!!
