Question Help reading OPKs (4 positives in a row???)

This is my first month using OPKs and I am a little stumped. I have had 4 possibly-positive tests in a row and I'm not sure I'm reading them right. Here are pictures:

CD 15-17: http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i6...Kdays15-17.jpg
*Day 15 = negative
*Day 16 = negative
*Day 17 = First Response test positive??? They look very close in color. Dollar Store test later that night was def. positive.

CD 18: http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i6...t=OPKday18.jpg
*Day 18 = positive I think?

CD 19-20: http://s69.photobucket.com/albums/i6...Kdays19-20.jpg

*Here's where I'm getting confused. Both CD 19 & 20 looked like this -- First Response had similarly colored lines, but Dollar Store was a def. negative. What the heck is going on? Which days are the OPKs actually positive?

If it helps, on CD 18 & 19 my temp was up by .2, and CD 20 it shot up by .8 (as compared to the previous 6 days). I think I ovulated somewhere in there, but I have no idea where!

Hi there: To me, the cd 17 OPK looks positive. I think you started your surge then and it carried over to the next day (and beyond, perhaps!). As for when you ovulated, you said your temp was up .2 on cd 18. Is that .2 higher than your temps on cds 12-17? If so, then it looks like you might have ovulated on cd 17. If not, then I would think you ovulated on cd 19. Both O dates are consistent with your OPKs.

So, either cd 17 or cd 19, depending on what you say about your previous 6 temps (as well as any cm or cramping symptoms).

Best of luck for your 2ww! Come back and let us know how you make out!

Yep, that's right. On cd 17 I started feeling terrible nausea in the afternoon, and have each day since, and the morning of the 18th I had cramping on my R side (tho that could have been more related to our "activities" the night before ). My CM & CP have been really hard to read this month.

Would it be normal for a surge to carry over for this many days?

Thanks for both of your responses! Hopefully I will have good news shortly.

Hi there: From what I've seen here, some women do tend to see LH in their system for a number of days around O. I myself don't have any personal experience because I would stop testing as soon as I saw my ++OPK!

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++

Hi Dina,

Sorry about the confusion! I did test on cd 19, but spacey me forgot to take a picture and it has faded some since. Doh! But it essentially looked identical to the test pictured for cd 20.

BC-Maura, thanks, that makes me feel better! My body doesn't seem to like being "textbook" about anything, and each new quirk throws me for a loop, haha.

Trying to pinpoint O can be so frustrating! But I think you have narrowed in on it. Did you BMS during the relevant time? If so, then you're good.

Good luck and check back in soon!

oh, thx for the clarification kiwi.

i too have seen many posts here where some women wouldn't O in the typical 12-36 hour window from their first surge. some went 48-72 hours.

i never tested beyond my first surge either. as soon as i saw my pos OPK we got busy.

don't worry about your body not being textbook. you're in good company! if we were all textbook we probably wouldn't be here, right?

Oh yes, we've been BDing as much as my poor DH can handle. I'm actually so glad I tried the OPKs this month, because in the past I haven't O'd until around day 22. Lucky I seemed to catch it early! *fingers crossed*
