New member, need a little help!

Hi out there, found this site today and decided to go ahead and jump right in. I am needing a little help on all of the acronyms

Some I can figure on my own HPT=Home Pregnancy Test, BBT=Basal Body Temp, OPK=ovulation predictor kit, etc... but some I am lost. For example, what does everyone mean by triggering?!? what about the three letter codes for positive or negative pregnancy tests? Any tips on these would be appreciated! I need to get with the lingo

Here is my story... Me (31) and husband (29), trying to conceive first child. Been trying since our wedding night February 2008. Tried for a year with no luck, annual happened to be that same month, she recommended that my husband get checked out first. Husband went to a urologist and turns out he had a varicocle (sp?) that was removed in March. I had my tubes checked and a vaginal sonogram and everything has seemed ok on my end so far. Three months later and three more periods. He was restested a few weeks ago and all of his numbers are going up in the right direction and we are now going to try IUI for the first time this month. I took my last 50mg of clomid today (days 2-6) and am going on Thursday (day 9) for another sonogram (I tend to ovulate pretty early with the home predictors kits). Have my hcg injection coming in the mail so I will have it to bring with me Thursday. Hope to have first IUI sometime Friday-Sunday.

Any tips, advice, stories would be appreciated!

Hi Lindsey and WELCOME! I hope you get some posts back on the IUI board, but for now I wanted to tell you that BFN and BFP stand for Big Fat Negative and Big Fat Positive (or you could use a different word for the F, depending on your mood!) and that there is a pinned post at the top of the forum that lists all acronyms (I will check to make sure it's still there) and to wish you GOOD LUCK!
